after driving real cars i was not interested in racing games but GT always makes me want to play them Edit: after reading comments about I am not driving cars or middle schooler bragging... I am 27 and I still love cars, I am not street racing or anything. I own 2016 seat toledo stock. My love for cars went from video games to watch youtube car reviews, test drives ...etc. Why did I stop playing racing games after I started to drive (my first car was opel astra 2006 used got it in 2013)? Mostly because I waited all my childhood dreaming of driving cars and I am telling what really happened to me. Still GT is the only game I would play, it has special place in my heart specially the race initial count down sound... I used to play GT since GT1. My best wishes for gamers and cars enthusiasts.

Ray tracing is only available for in-game cutscenes or replays, not during the race itself, and is limited to 30 FPS. In performance mode, the replay runs at 60 FPS on PS5.

They nailed the graphics, it is a beautiful game to look at. But what inmerses me more is the sounds. The sound of the rain hitting the car, the rythmic thump of the wipper blades, the rumble of the tires rolling across the tarmac, even the sound of the debris on the track hitting the wheel wells. This is what a racing sim should be and more

You can straight up see the weight of the car get unbalanced when you brake too hard from a fast straight leading to a corner, wow! I love seeing it break loose reminding you it's not to be treated as an arcade racer where you can just slide at every turn

Except for the environments, and the horrendous character models of those few watching the race. Plus, the game literally looks like you are floating a big rectangle. There doesn't seem to be any presence of weight or speed that adds to immersion. GT1 did this all better.

Nope. There are no ray tracing in gameplay, only in replay where you can see it dropped to 30fps.

one thing game developers still haven't nailed is the floaty-car issue. the environment and car itself looks great but it still lacks that lifelike interaction with the road. the ride is too smooth, the wheels don't feel like they're touching the road, and the shadows are still a bit off when you look at the where the car meets the ground from the front or side. the suspension moves (if you do a side view) but it doesn't "feel" lifelike or natural. it just feels like the wheel is moving up and down, but there's no weight to the car, no actual physics involved in the movement. it's a very subtle thing but that's one thing that still needs overcoming, is the floaty-ness of the cars in racing games. this isn't just a GT thing it's across the board.

There's a lot to be desired in this game. The exhaust is only 1 inch deep before it gets blocked by something. It looks like shit. Unironically, Looking at FH5 on PC, this game looks like shit. There's so many super bland textures used because of the PS5's limitations. I WISH they would make it for the PC as well. This game is hindered so much. It genuinely upsets me.

@@V8_Diva no...it is because of gearbox. This Porshe does not have paddles...so the hand is most of time on the gearbox, that is why you can not see it. I played 3 hours today in this car and second hand normally goes back when you are not switching gears

To ME, the best ray tracing effect is at night when your headlights chase the shadow away of the cars in front of you as you pass them. Second best is the lights flickering in the underpass as they shine on your dash 👍

I have been a Gran Turismo fan since the first game on the original PlayStation. I haven't picked it up for our PS5 yet but if I get the chance I will snag it today from GameStop (I don't do digital). The only thing I don't like about this game is the persistent online "feature" for a single player game. This means once the servers are shutdown the game becomes a 70 dollar coaster. I do love seeing in-car cam and hope Gran Turismo is finally matching Forza by giving us the option for every car. That is the way I prefer to drive in both Horizon and Forza. Yes, I play them all.

Only thing about GT I'm not a fan of is lack of customisation, lack of crumple damage on cars, and the fact that despite how fast you go, it's just not very thrilling. I hope they fix these issues. If I crash I'd like to see my bonnet crumple at least.

Just wanted to point out that this scene is not Ray traced. There are no dynamic reflections of the other cars. Watch whenever he passes someone, you can't see the other car. This is baked lighting, albeit pretty good for a console. Ray tracing only works in the garage and replays on this title. Be aware of the false marketing from Sony..

The rain animation could be more realistic. There should be rain drops in the windshield. I am certainly not impressed with the realism in this game.
