Hello, welcome to finally another entry in my series of cars never seen again in the GT franchise. At least for cars that appeared on the PS2 GTs before never seen seen again. In this volume, we have yet two more Formula GT cars, another unique concept car from Gran Turismo 4, a couple for Sports car concepts, and another BA Ford Falcon muscle car. Plus a BWM e46 Coupe, but not a M3.
So, that's what is in store for this video, I hope you enjoy it.
Notes:
- Well, I'm trying to actually add my own end screens to promote my channel. I figured I can do it during when I say goodbyes and show pictures.
- I can finally say I'm done with showing the North America/Japan Formula GT cars. These two were it, now I just have to cover the PAL FGT cars from GT3.
- I think I might have one more video in the PS2 series left as I'm nearly out of cars to cover from this era. Though, I think I can think of a couple more interesting cars outside of the FGT cars. You'll see.
- Oh, here's another interesting thing I missed about the Z concept. It had the exhaust on the middle of the back bumper versus the normal dual exhausts setup the 350Z has.
- I honestly haven't seen too many games with the normal BMW e46 3-Series, only in 2 Gran Turismo games and in Driving Emotion Type-S. Plus the Ghost NFS Games, but only as a traffic car.
Songs Used:
- Isamu Ohira - Race Prep. Theme (Gran Turismo 4)
- Isamu Ohira - Concentration (Album Version)
- Isamu Ohira - Slipstream (GT3 In-game version)
- Isamu Ohira - Event Menu Theme (Gran Turismo 4)
- Isamu Ohira - Horizon

that motor triathlon car was such a unique little thing, and I never saw people talking about it before.

Fun fact, according to The Cutting Room Floor, there are text only entries for both Daimler Motor Carriages in Gran Turismo 5. Unfortunately, it is not possible to get a gift car coupon like you can with the FPV cars because the scripting to obtain the ticket is missing.

Hmmm, neat and also shameful about the ticket.

I loved the FPV GT in GT4. It's very sad that PD stopped licensing the car after GT PSP, it's a very cool car. 😥😢

Same here, I miss the BA Falcon in general. Don't know why I haven't seen it in a racing game again yet, not even in Forza.

@@RandomCarGuy17 the problem FPV was going bust as Ford Australia started to lay off workers and slowly close their factories. Prodrive took full control in a futile attempt to save FPV but it was futile. HSV is also defunct due to Holden closing down and renamed itself General Motors Special Vehicles. I doubt FPV will appear in the future as it is down defunct and getting licences for defunct brands is not easy too complex and thr complicated factors behind it.

@@noobsaibot7006 There are indeed difficulties behind getting licenses for defunct brands, but the problem I have with this argument is that it's been done before by PD for ages. Plymouth and Pontiac are two examples of this. Honestly, the only reason I see PD now not getting FPV cars is simply because they haven't wanted to. If any company could gather the license for defunct brands, it would be PD. With their history and standing power under Sony, they could do it. I've seen Turn 10 and PG already show their capability in licensing these brands with FM7 and FH5.

@@RandomCarGuy17 it has to do with priorities. Many car brands have also tried to contact PD and Sony like Zenvo and Isdera so they can get their cars featured in the game. But it seems pd and sony dont care which just shows how out of touch they are when it comes to licensing while MS and T10 just mop up everything feature many brands. Even Bizzare Creations which did PGR did a better job I mean so many unknown brands were featured in their games. Gt1 to GT4 featured many unknown brands like Vector and Venturi over time it seems PD just no longer cares about obscure brands as they used to.

@@noobsaibot7006 Now that I'll agree with, Kaz seems to have little self-awareness with what his audience wants out of Gran Turismo. and it's more than just cars, but other aspects of GT right now. and yes, there's definitely a shift in priority on what cars they add. They seem to still be more interested in the vision GT project and eSports racing over obscure stuff. However, this is where I disagree with you on. The obscure car brands you've mentioned between GT1-4. A lot of those were in GT5 & 6 as well; GT4's entire car list was almost essentially ported there. a lot of those obscure brands were still there and could still come back. GT Sport was the start of PD once again updating their models and so; they had to start over again with adding cars. and there's clear evidence that they have interest in bringing cars from GT6 back as they've been doing this since GT Sport's 1st year of dlc. Only now, they've gotten into a new annoying habit of dripfeeding content, so it's going to take a long while before we see these obscure cars again. But I tell you, I believe that more obscure stuff like the Cizeta V16T and Spyker C8 could still come back.

I can pretty bluntly explain why they would cut random cars like the BMW and Crossfire whilst adding ten Nissan GT-Rs. Polyphony Digital is a Japanese company. They obviously have a bias towards their home country. That's the simplest and most likely reason. No earthly idea why the Z Concept got cut though. Later concept cars would remain intact, notably the R-35 GT-R concepts.

I think Gran Turismo was made in mind with Kazunori trying to promote Japanese cars to the wider world. I gotta say with Gran Turismo It allowed me to appreciate Japanese Motorsport and its history also got me hooked on Super GT.

@@noobsaibot7006 Oh obviously, I'm just answering why certain cars would be cut and not others. Hell, Gran Turismo was one of the big things that got westerners interested in Japanese automobiles. So he absolutely succeeded.

With both the FPV BA GT & F6 Typhoon, someone's gone & done them for Assetto Corsa. So you could always get them & use them in that game if you'd wanted, the same author has done a fair few australian cars as well for AC, and all are nice ones
@RandomCarGuy17

Yeah, I've seen those and I'm honestly not interested. $15 per month is not worth it for those cars when I've seen higher quality stuff go for less.

@@RandomCarGuy17 Bit of a shame that these ones are paywalled, with them being good ones. Ended up doing so myself in the end, going onto the patreon as i wouldn't have been able to get them otherwise, not see those australian types done by anyone else either. Even are things for free that are of the same quality & better as well, though for those who aren't too bothered by becoming a sailor shall we say, can still get those particular FPV's & other ones elsewhere. Still a shame those are the only ways, as there is hardly any australian type cars out there for AC

@@huleeyaxerssius7 Yeah, it's a shame that they're the only ones for the most part doing this and that some of the models are honestly low-quality ports from what looks like games made in the 2000s. I know as while I won't pay $15 to try their mods, I did pay $5 before to gain access to their Falcon XR8 and VY Commodore SS and the Falcon XR8s didn't look the best or felt like they drove the best either.

Wouldn't it be possible to drive the FPV Falcon in GT5 through the PSP transfer option? Since the game had a feature where you could import cars from your garage from the PSP to use in Arcade mode only if you connected both consoles with a USB cable. They used the PSP models funny enough in-game, which let you even use Standard versions of cars that were only available as Premium in the main game. Or did it have a limitation of which cars you could import over?
@RandomCarGuy17
@RandomCarGuy17 Жыл бұрын
No, the game purposely excludes those and the BMW M5 Concept from the PSP transfer option. If you load up a save file of GTPSP onto GT5 using that feature, you will get a notice that those cars weren't added. I know from experience, I've done the PSP transfer option multiple times.

Maybe the reason for FPV is connected to why the Tickford name is GT3 exclusive-personally I like how the Falcon Supercar called as a "Tickford" to distinguish this is Aussie-exclusive. I've been wonder how Tickford just returned several years ago, then shocked finding out it never was Ford exclusive tuning brand at the first place. I would still stood for my theory on German marques were stingy on Gran Turismo for the BMW case. I still feel unsatisfied of the German lineup when compare GT to other same period racing games. Speaking of, have you heard Toyota pod was a nameplace only in GT4? I don't think English community has ever mentioned this, as I watched this Japanese user who also modded GT2 to add the Ferraris: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJPbpJqer9dgask

if you realize also clearly apart from the Australian forum that was in big smoke PSP and it could have been transferred but they did not want it, the same thing also happened with the BMW 2004, the BMW 2003 or 2004 However, in Gran Turismo 6, support for the 2004-2003 BMW ended and what happened in Gran Turismo 7 or in Gran Turismo Sport, it returned but in the form of a 2003 BMW, not a 2004, which was the colors The one that did return was the one from 2003 that was not the BMW GT-R but the BMW that was the one from 2004 that was in Gran Turismo 4

Um, what? I think you might have your BMWs confused. There was a BMW that couldn't be transferred from GTPSP, yes. However, that was the M5 Concept, not the M3 e46 that it seems like you're talking about given that you mentioned GTR and 2003 model in GT7. You can drive a 2004 M3 in GT5 & 6 as a standard car of course. Further elaboration, both the e46 M3 and e60 M5 Concept are 2004 models in GTPSP, but they're not the same car.

I believe there are three Lotus models listed in the infamous GT7 datamine/leak/whatever, so Lotus may show up in GT7 someday. I'm guessing Volvo is also absent due to the same issue(s), since both brands are owned by Geely.
@RandomCarGuy17
@RandomCarGuy17 Жыл бұрын
I mean they could assuming Polyphony ever sorts out their problems with Lotus, but I'm going to tell you this. I don't think Geely the problem, it's purely Lotus. There's been talk that Lotus felt that they weren't getting a fair payment for their license in comparison to other brands considering their history and Polyphony Digital has been too stubborn to pay the higher price than in the past. I mean, it has to be that as Lotus has been in other racing games in the past few years with no problem, probably because other companies are more flexible in a deal. As for Volvo, I'm not fully sure that's why. I think it's a matter of Polyphony simply not seeing priority to license and use Volvo right away, like a lot of other brands still not back in GT yet such as Isuzu and Seat for instance.
