Gran Turismo Evolution PS1, PSP, PS2, PS3 GT comparison

This is the game I grew up with. I'm 18 years old and I've been gaming my whole life. Sony is the console I grew up with. I really enjoyed the first Gran Turismo, but when my parents bought me GT2, I was truly in love. I sunk countless hours into GT2, and when I got a Playstation 2 and GT3 to go along with it, my jaw hit the ground. I was absolutely blown away by the graphical quality of GT3. I loved every Gran Turismo made, and now I'm waiting for GT6 to come out. It won't let down. I know it.

But unlike a cartridge, you could take the disk out and still play the same level, ie rent gta2, load up the city, return the game, and still play around the city until the system is turned off. Oh and custom soundtracks on some ps1 games. Ie swapping disks during game with a music cd. Ps1 was an awesome system, but it had its weaknesses

@bookshelffury Hopefully Sony is going to release the new Gran Turismo game on the PS Vita using the graphics from the PS3 GT5, and use the cockpit of that game, maybe add some new cockpits to cars that don't have 'em. And get some new cars, and include all of the previous tracks.

@needfordylan Ya man, I remember playing gran turismo for the first time when I was about 10. Been in love with the game since. No other racing game compares to the purity of gran turismo. Like just last night I completed a 9 hour endurance race in one day. 9 hours and just over 800 laps. Now that's love. Gt4life.

@neberboi I honestly think the graphics of the PSP much better, but portable video games good graphics displays only when you see live The graphics of handheld consoles videos on youtube look ugly.

razor zabath The PSP is slightly worse and it's more noticable when you're actually playing it on the PSP. Most PSP games run in 16 bit colour (some can run at 32 bit colour for sacrificed performance such as KH: BBS). Play GT on the PSP and you'll see this grainy looking dithering effect on everything because it's just too much for the PSP to handle as many colours as the PS2. Instead of proper gradients you get dithering (like a checkerboard pattern of alternating shades of pixels basically ) like a lot of SNES games had.

only big difference between the psp and the ps2 is the resolution....other than that its pretty much the same :)
