I've always played GT but I also love Forza 3 on my XBOX 360 unfortunately I can't afford to buy an XBOX One right now just to play Forza 6 which kind of sucks. The way I see it, no one is gonna buy a console based on one or two games and in the end they could make more money if they release on multiple platforms. This is a really poorly made trailer, which is a shame because the greater gaming community has the attention span of a walnut and will make their final decisions on the game based upon this video. The Nurburgring shots featuring the tree walls and poor ground texturing are running on a build considerably earlier than the one we saw at the live-stream where these issues ceased to prevail. Not only that, but you're watching heavily compressed, 30 FPS replay shots from a 60 FPS game that is stated as being only 50% complete. Withheld your opinion until we see the final release build.

Based on past GTs and this trailer, this will need 5 things: 1. The sounds need to be realistic. I'm not just talking engine sounds. Impacts with walls, other cars, and when the car bottoms out, and when tires scrubbing the track in corners. That McLaren 650S GT3 seen in the trailer for example needs to sound as close to the real thing as possible. A small selection of cars in GT6 actually did sound close to the real thing. There is no excuse if you record the sound of the car and use a fake synthesized sound that doesn't match the car. Raceroom Racing Experience is what should be benchmarked in terms of sounds, not a Dyson. 2. Proper race regulations. It's one thing for someone to organize a league and ask drivers to ashere to the regulations. It's another for there to be in-game stewards to be able to enforce them on the spot. There also has to be safety car periods. It pisses me off that there is an R34 Skyline GT-R and an M4 that are made as safety cars, but are never used for that purpose. 3. Full in-car wheel rotation. Back when GT5 Prolouge was being shown, there was a video of a 900 degree steering rotation. If you race from the cockpit (maximum immersion), and the steering wheel in the car doesn't match the one you have in your hands, it just kills immersion. 4. Proper physics. This one is a given since that it's being made for a console, so it has to be dumbed-down so people with gamepads will be able to drive the cars. Also, fun fact, GT Academy winners use rFactor to train when not in the car, not GT. A *REAL SIMULATOR* that came out in 2005 is still more realistic than most "sims" out there these days is pretty sad. 5. Properly optimized graphics. While the PS4 is pretty weak-sauce, I don't think there is any excuse why you couldn't have a game that looks like that and not have have flickering shadows, screen tearing, and pop-in like that. It breaks immersion and is a sign of a developer that has priorities elsewhere. Another thing too. Turn 10, which of course is PD's direct competitor, will be releasing Forza on Xbox and Windows from now on. Sony and PD are losing potential customers by cutting off a segment of the market unless they buy a PS4. If this was brought to PC, as long as it would be able to take advantage of poweful hardware, it could potentially look absolutely amazing. These games are being made in PCs anyways, so why not? Oh right, Sony has to sell consoles. :/ In case anyone is wondering, I played GT for many years. I moved to PC and I have been spoiled by all the sims that are there. (Sans Assetto Corsa and Project CARS. They suck.) I just want Gran Turismo to be at that level if it wants to call itself "The Real Driving Simulator". Be that, and not just a bunch pretty graphics and marketing bullshit, that's what drove me away in the first place.

I moved to play Projectcars on pc and I think it's ok I have contact with one of the game testers. But since I started to play ProjectCars and tried to move back to my favorite racing game off all time Granturismo. But now Grandturismo isn't that fun anymore as it was before for somereason like everytime I play it i get the same reaction in my head like "Meh" or "That was lame" I quess I just lost the "spark" of the game. I remember then I was a kid I stayed up all night to play Grandturismo 3 on my "Playstation 2 slim" and that was a blast even playing it alone was fun.

+Sony P Since GT5 there has been a damage model. The cars get scratches and dents and in some rare occasions the doors even fell of, but that's about it. I doubt that they removed the damage model for GT Sport since damage model is something that every car game should have by now. I don't know if the damage model was increased so that you might lose a wheel or something like that, but I hope that there'd be better damage model for GT. I'll take it as it comes :)

+Andre Pereira There was no performance or handling damage in GT6 that I noticed. All it does is minimally scratch your car so that it looks bad, then when you go to take a photo they are slightly damaged but not enough. In the end it just looks tacky, I'd rather have no damage than a what they currently have. I would obviously rather some real damage though.

drsayus0000 I haven't played that much GT6 to notice it. I thought it was more or less the same damage model as it was in GT5. But yeah, totally agree with you. The damage is very strange. I also prefer having no visual damage than the one they had in GT5 and GT6. I love to have cars that completely shred themselves apart if you crash into something. Like in Need for Speed Shift 2. That damage model was insane! And that was a PS3 game. If GT Sport could have at least a damage model like NfS Shift 2 or Project Cars or other recent games, it'd be much better. It's a shame because I like the game as it is, it's one of my childhood games, but I think it's time to bring a bit more improvement into the game. Sounds, Graphics, Damage Model etc. The game still looks good, don't get me wrong. But it's more or less the same as it always was.

+peaaanuuutz Project Cars was mediocre at best. A low variety of cars per class with the only thing giving them diversity were atrocious liveries and the AI wasn't that good until the gaps got big. They tried too hard on the physics too, you could barely get the best out of the car or you would go into ridiculously unrealistic tank slappers, especially with front-engined cars. They couldn't decide between an arcade game or simulator, frankly I would rather play Forza for fun and rFactor when I want to be realistic.

It has been a long held opinion of mine that Gran Turismo has always had far and away the best photo mode out of all the other games i've ever seen it used in, such as NFS and Uncharted. There is just something about actually feeling like you are changing depth of field and setting shutter speed on a real camera that doesn't come through in other games. I hope they continue it in GTS just as they had in GT6, and I believe in GT5.

THIS is GT7.... I don't know if you realize but GT6 released about a month before the ps4 came out. (That was almost 3 years ago) And I picked it up on day one, it was amazing! From time to time I play GT5 and GT6, and I might dust them off again in celebration of this trailer!

+Young Rios It won't be a prologue, It's smaller than the last two games only because it has a motorsports E-Sports focus. Remember, GT5P had 40 cars and 6 tracks, GTS is planned to have over 130 cars and atleast 19 tracks, that's three times bigger.

Really hate when people compare the two. They have ONE similarity and that's a racing game. The rest is two different racing games. One is for the hardcore who enjoy simulators the other is for the casual who enjoys a lighter easier to tune your car racing game (which is fine I play both). Graphically speaking gran turismo has always lead the way in terms of CAR graphics and realism. Forza is good but it lacks little intricate details. At the end of the day just enjoy the game you like.
