Granada Adverts & Continuity - c.20th October 1990

It's been a while since I've uploaded some adverts, so here's the three ad breaks from a broadcast of the 1986 box office hit "Top Gun", the movie that cemented Tom Cruise as one of the world's top actors. If anyone has a TX date I'd greatly appreciate it.

Seem to remember the advert. Twenty six years on from the advert, Frisps is still available, mainly in Iceland stores.

Lots of weird ads...I think the Scotland bank one being the oddest. Surprised the Andersons gave the Thunderbids for what amounts to a "woman drivers" commercial. Is that Celia Imrie in the Heineken ad?

Yes, that is correct. I have just looked at the IMDB website and it is Celia Imrie, one of the 'Heineken Can Do This' series of short adverts.

Caught a glimpse of the actor in the ITV/Central Television produced drama series 'Boon'? I have forgotten his name, not the late Michael Elphick and what is the theme tune to the song?

The episode of Boon being advertised is "Work, Rest & Play". The actor is a young John Hannah pre-_Four Weddings and a Funeral_. The theme is "Hi Ho Silver" written and performed by the late Jim Diamond (not specially for the show, Diamond wrote it as a tribute to his father, who by coincidence was also a fireman!)
