I just love that everyone's "main four" is gonna be different. Extremely rare that you'll see two groups of the same four characters, and basically impossible that even of you did that each character's build would be even close.

there's still some meta considerations, like Cagliostro/Sieg are insane for dmg. Personally i either play percy/sieg or narmaya for mommy energy and stances, as i loved longsword in MHW.

Played Rackam for the main campaign and his damage is ridiculous, but only if you play him right. Prioritize charged shots, using damage skills and properly timed burst shots to build heat between them. Do full level 5 charged shots (anything less is a waste of time) and you can do two in a row, before heat is too low. Use the buff that holds high heat to get several charged shots in a row (even more if time's frozen from link). Combo, Stamina, and Tyranny sigils are great synergies.

My first 4: Percival (aoe machine), Katalina (versatile support/tank/dps), Vaseraga (Meat shield machine/dps) and Caglo (all kinds of support abilities). I just love how every single character is viable in this game, they really put an emphasis on who you ENJOY most before all the meta stuff

Katalina's instant heal plus invincibility (party wide w/ Ares gauge) has come in clutch a number of times for me. Nice to see her on the list haha

If you like Katalina's heal/invincibility, you should try Vane. It's the same but with more damage and satisfying gameplay. It has a skill that instantly heals when you are below 30% hp and grants you 30% attack and def boosts. His combo finishers also heal a lot.

Yodarha is actually pretty good as an ai. He prioritizes using mirror image for the team and it comes in pretty clutch

I wish we can see other's points as well after the mission, at least in solo mode, so we can know which character performs better. Currently in the epilogue now, I feel Rosetta is busted in team, Vaseraga deals insane damage if you control him, gonna focus on cag and ferry next.

My whole teams ROE is just engaged, engage, engage I’m playing Id and I have narmaya, Sigfried, and a face tanking Vaseraga who takes all the ago I have a full team of attackers and every single one of my quests has an S++ lol I love this game

Picking your main, who ever it may be, and then putting them with Rackam, Io, and Gran/Djeeta is what I did for the campaign and it worked out great I would highly recommend it. I picked Yodarha also and saved the rest of my tickets allowing me to redeem higher level characters.

I split my main time between Yoda and Cag. Yoda is just a fun fast combo machine, and Cag is the ultimate support character. I like their personalities the best as well, their writing makes me laugh. When using AI i round out the team currently with Zeta and Charlotta.

Got Narmaya first. Maining her with currently: Gran, Io, and Caglio. What I plan to have: Narmaya / Caglio / Sieg or Vane? / Ferry or X? In the long run I’ll prob have 2-3 party load outs to switch between but I’m torn rn 😂 and we’re still getting new characters too so oh my

My two favorite chars are Percival and Lancelot. They both tend to be staples in my team with Cagels and id. Id isnt even invested and his AI snatches MVP from me some times.

Vasaraga the guy with the sythe can face tank everything has a ton of self heal along side hostility increase ... with all that it lets me sit in the background as range and almost never get attacked

I was going to say the same thing about Rosetta myself. I mained her for a bit, but when I switched off of her and had her as an NPC, she was actually incredibly useful. And even in missions where I play well and score S+ or higher, she still gets MVP sometimes. Cracked support.

I have been using Katalina and Percival the most. Katalina seems better to play as so you can control her Ares stuff better. She can make the entire team invincible for awhile with one of her skills. Percival just does tons of AoE damage and buffs the entire party so AI can control him pretty well.

Lol Perc and Kat were funny enough my first 2 characters I maxes out. I love Kats versility as a sub dps/tank support and like you said Percival is just a aoe machine, I use him the most when in groups battles with bunch of mobs

I think the questions should be more along the lines of "what are the best two characters to spend my first crew vouchers on" and "what are the two characters I should focus masteries on while leveling". Notably, Eugen only has his poison grenade available right away, so he'll need to be one of the two masteried characters if you want him to be more than an auto-attacker. Along this thought line, I think Rose should get an honorable mention as she has attack up, defense up, and regen in her default kit, needing absolutely no mastery points to be a solid support.

Oh, he's an awesome character, don't get me wrong, I just don't know if he has a place as a CPU companion unless you want to commit to giving him lots of mastery points. His base kit and cheap (tier one) masteries leave him with only venom shot as utility.

Build must be bad yes. I'm playing Engen since the beginning with no cooldown reduction anywhere and skill CD hasn't been an issue at all. I picked him specifically as an example for the very straightforward gameplay he has and still, you're never waiting for a skill in particular, you just have to use them at the best moment. It's not one of those games where you spam skills mindlessly and where auto attacks are useless. For example the mission for exp/gold in maniac difficulty is better done with auto attacks rather than skills, you'll do more dps with Eugen this way in my experience. Using skills with him in that mission will get you less kills than auto attacking in sniper mode.

Unjokingly, i enjoy playing vaseraga for how sluggishly tanky he is with extreme satisfying hit counters and not dying in the fight. (Most of my fights are 10+ minutes in EXTREME cause my vaseraga power is 10k while my next highest is 4k)

You have to max everything you can before going to proud difficulty. I heard people saying not to go there without auto rez equipped in multi-player. So I'm taking my time and building 2 characters and their ascended weapons before going there. The 'urgent' quest you get right before unlocking it was a big hint for me : 'you're not prepared'. Like it a lot, it gave me a purpose as I was starting to get bored stomping anything that crossed my path. I didn't know you could fail quests before that.

It's really good but it doesn't work with the UEVR mod so i just couldn't get into it playin flatscreen anymore. Wish i never tried the mod now because its ruined my flatscreen experience. I get no more dopamine playing games flat now. Bummer! 😖 Warning to those who want to try out the UEVR mod. Once you go VR, you won't wanna return to flat games ever, and it will ruin experiences on great games like this one that won't work with it. Careful! I know i'm not going to end up playing this one now because of that. I can see happenin for Dragons Dogma 2aswell now fk! Just hope Praydog brings out a mod for that once since it's Capcom.
