Cygames did very big mistake with regional prices and they just lost an important moment for more people to get into game. Imagine, people can have salary around~200-300$ in some regions and game cost 75-85$ in their region on Steam. Those people saw price and don't even touch free trial version, in best scenario they add it to wishlist and gonna wait for sale. And for those who own previous game on Steam, there is no discount, everything is for full price. Game is good tho, netcode is solid, totally fun to play and WE'RE SO BACK!

As a strive player this is a breath of fresh air. Doesn't feel too out of my depth as a new fighting game player, isn't a complete subgenre shift like sf6 and tekken so im not struggling to get into it, but has, what feels like, more depth than strive and feels different enough that im excited to keep coming back and grinding out my main.

Rising is a really great package that's pretty easy for me to reccomend...provided you don't live somewhere effected by regional pricing. Rising cost me 66 bucks living in Canada, and if I were to buy the season pass + other dlc it would cost me another 66 bucks. I'm sympathetic because I know the price of game development has gone up, but I don't know if people will be able to justify purchases like that. I don't even have it that bad; players from smaller countries are dealing with even bigger price discrepancies. I hope Cygames takes another look and reconsiders their price policy.

The cost is ridiculous, but lets be honest, its our government's fault for reducing our buying power and ruining the economy in the first place. Games are cheaper now than they were 20 years ago due to inflation, but we can't buy as much with our dollar. I'm not gonna go on an unhinged rant about politics, but I try not to blame devs and retailers for things that aren't really their fault.

It's crazy how they turn this game around completely. From one of the simplest and easiest fighting game to play (imo) into a game with a lot of crazy mechanic and the pace gets way faster too. It's like a completely new game. Also the free to play with rotating roster is such an amazing idea imo.

Clocked 200+ matches already since early access and I'm so happy this game got its second chance. What a great time to be an FGC fan.

Loved GBVS so I'm more than happy it's back and actually playable. The new mechanics do a lot for flexibility and expression without being overwhelming. It's just a more complete, polished game overall. Only thing you can really knock it for is no regional pricing. Which is actually a big problem that needs to be addressed. But at least the people who can reasonably play it will have a good time.

Almost didn’t even try Granblue here, because I was unfamiliar with the IP, and given that the solution was getting into a freemium gâcha title, I wasn’t going to rectify that. The ArcSys pedigree and cool character designs had gotten me to the edge of buying. This video got me over the top. I’m glad it did. I’m really clicking with it. Not in the winning sense, but more just enjoying everything.

Probably my favorite fg that went into hibernation after selling a whole bunch of copies right before the pandemic. Ended up just playing single player modes because of the netcode quality. Waited four years before finally being able to play multiplayer 😂

I was really surprised to see reviews on Steam saying "Not worth the price". It seemed like it has all the content you'd expect to be in a fighting game, and the online is great, plus we have cross-play now. The roster is awesome and the game itself is very fun, easy to pick up and play, but lots to learn. Plus, a free trial so people can try it before buying it. Overall the game seems incredible to me, having a ton of fun.

I think the comments about the price refer to the lack of regional prices. In some countries, the game is very expensive. Personally, I've read complaints about prices in South America in particular. Here in Brazil the game is the same price as Tekken 8, and it's not even the most expensive I've seen. It's a real shame. Bad spawn RNG. Prices aside, the game looks fantastic and I look forward to playing it in the future, I'm a fan of the mobile game and I hope this game does well.

One thing I'd add that's kinda important imo. ARC doesn't do costumes. In a 2019 GBVS interview they said no costumes as it would take too many resources because of how animations are done. It would be better to create a new version of the character. Many people were disappointed since it's huge in the GBF community and even FGC. Look at all the SF6 complaints. Anyway, at EVO Cygames said they worked with ARC and found a way. They recently announced Narmaya as the first post-game costume ( a super popular and rare GBF costume) and they said it's the first of many. They really listened for all kinds of feedback to make this game amazing!

GBVSR is amazing. Yeah I am getting washed a lot as Eustace. I bought the deluxe edition because when I started playing fighting games in 2020 GBVS was there for me to hold my hand through learning motions. I played with a bunch of friends who were also not into learning motions and I thought the game was perfect if they added rollback. Then they announced Rise with rollback and said, "wait, there's more..." and man did they deliver. The lobby system is a little silly and the grand bruise is a little clunky feeling but if you have friends that need something to do to shake off a loss or just hangout GBVSR has it for you. The crane game is a nice way to get rewards that is interactive and another way to keep you engaged. As a lover of the game who plays a charge mid range zoner, I am hating the speed of the game. I think over time I will get used to it but sometimes I question why I don't go back to one of my old mains before Eustace came out (Djeeta, Narmaya, Soriz, Charlotta) or Yuel who I messed around with. But the new metered versions of skills is cool and even though motions aren't as useful it is nice they have them for people who spent time learning them. Also doing raw counter super still has the damage penalty so for those invincible reversal supers it is still worth doing the motion.

Yeah, the gameplay and the package feel really, really good. Between rollback and crossplay, it's incredibly easy to find good matches, and the F2P option is a godsend (specially as someone affected by the terrible regional pricing). It might be worth grinding a F2P rotation character at a time for variety, and saving the money for Tekken 8 if they insist in competing with Tekken price-wise. There's a lot to love in the game, though.

I am so glad that I was able to learn about the free version of this game. Granblue is actually not a fighting game that is on my list of fgs to play. It's only the free version that made me try the game but dang was I hooked on playing it. Already got 7 hours playing the game with Gran only. It's fun to learn how to make some combos and learning how to beat other characters. However, even with that 7 hours of gameplay I still haven't beat Seigfried yet😂😂. I might buy the game once it's on sale cause I don't really have the budget to purchase a fg for full price.

I'm so happy. I loved the original but it felt like it died quickly and that was that. Now it's back with a vengeance, it's amazing value for $50 (and the $75 version is a good value too, gvien it comes with 6 more characters and a ton of extras), and I firmly stand by it being the most beautiful ArcSys game of all time. Sold. The leg up this and Under Night 2 has over some of the other games at the moment is that I don't know any of these characters so I can try out everyone, whereas in, say, like a Street Fighter 6, I'm waiting for my character so I can really enjoy it the way I want to. So far I'm gravitating towards Narmaya, Seox and Siegfried. Maybe a little bit of Anila as well. She's way too cheerful to not pick up lol. Grand Bruise lobby when Jiyuna? 😆

Only thing I don't like is the RPG mode getting completely neutered and turned into "Story Mode". No more weapon grids, weapon crafting, co-op or even tower. Just boss fights with a single weapon skill, support skills and an AI.

I do have one problem with it though. Despite me purchasing it while in Japan, the game thinks I'm in North America, and because of that I can't manually select the Japanese region when I do ranked matches. I can only choose NA or "any," which means, if I want to play ranked, I'm basically guaranteed at least 5 frames of rollback unless I get really lucky. Of the dozens of matches I've had, two of them were Japanese, and it's really frustrating. If anyone knows any workarounds I'm all ears. I would very much like to play ranked with people who aren't halfway across the world.
