Grand Canyon Railway Williams, Arizona

Welcome Back Explorers, it’s day one in Williams, Arizona where we are staying at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel & RV Park. Today we’re taking the Grand Canyon Railway on a 2hr 15min train ride to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and back. Come along as we experience some of the wild Wild West before, during, and after the ride!
🚂Here are some tips I have for riding the train🚂
1. Bring snacks, drinks, lunch
It is a LONG day from 8:30am-5:45pm. We packed sandwiches, beef jerky, plenty of water, Gatorade, etc
2. If you have Littles, bring some form of entertainment, the train is 2hrs 15min each way
3. Wear sunscreen, layers, and good shoes!
It was only 65* (we were freezing) but all of us got slight sunburns at the Grand Canyon
4. Bring cash in small bills, I brought $2 bills to be fun, this is for the “robbery” on your way back to Williams
5. Purchase an America The Beautiful National Park Pass. If you don’t have a pass your train tickets will be charged an additional $30 for entrance into the Grand Canyon, a National Park Pass is $80 for the year for your entire family.

We ate at the Buffet inside the Grand Canyon Railway hotel, the Canyonlands Restaurant in Bearizona, and then cooked at home the 3rd night because Lennox and I were so over takeout

It is a pricy park (the day we checked in the city upped the lodging tax to 17.5% and we had to pay the difference even though we booked and paid months ago) and there's a few things to note. 1. have attachments for your hoses because our hose did not fit to dump our tanks, it was too big. 2. Our 15ft hose was not long enough to dump both of our gray tanks because of where their dump is located, it's super far forward so it wouldn't reach our back tank, we had to hook up to the truck and pull forward our last day a bit so we could dump the back tanks. Other than that, I recommend it if you're doing the train. If you're not doing the train there's better/cheaper places to stay 3. Make sure you have a national park pass because otherwise you will be charged an additional $30 for national park entrance onto your train ticket.

Disney was founded in 1923. I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon, but I did do a railway ride at Verde Canyon which was so cool. I would definitely like to check this out!

For me and the kids it was, my husband definitely could have gone longer and done a different trail. Luckily they have some shorter trails at this drop off so it's perfect. You can also book a bus to take you to a different part of the canyon to do a different trail.
