This is EXACTLY how it has been for years and years. This isn't anything new. The RV manufacturers have been sitting on their hands, hoping that Trump gets into office and this all goes away. The thing is, this is a state issue, not a Federal issue and there isn't anything anyone else can do unless it's something shady like Trump refusing to give California any disaster relief because he doesn't like them since their electoral votes didn't go to him.

IMO, Battleborn will have to change their price point strategy biggly. You can now buy a decent 300 ah battery for about $500, and it is not much bigger than a BB 100 ah. So nearly half the price and 3x the capacity.

They lied. There is NOTHING preventing you from having vehicles in several states (and even driver's licenses in several states). In some circumstances, you may even be required to do so. What they may be getting at is where the vehicle is garaged - the primary place it is parked at night. That's the problem with may of these Montana LLC's - if it's registered in Montana, but garaged in Ohio, then you are probably uninsured, no matter what you paid or where you bought your insurance.

I have a 2024 reflection and the LP "quick" connect is absolute garbage. Takes like 5x as long to connect as a standard propane connection. I have to get under the RV and use both hands pushing and twisting as hard as I can to get the tube in there. Want to see about switching it for just the standard twist on. So annoying. Love the RV otherwise.

So according to CARB California’s air will be cleaner if a CA resident buys a non-compliant motorhome and registers it out of state. Makes no sense.
@djpWilson
@djpWilson 3 күн бұрын
Jason never used the phrase California resident. What he said was it's legal to sell a non-compliant rv as long as it is not registered in California (or presumably the other states covered). I'm sure California is the same as Massachusetts where it is illegal to live here and deive a vehicle registered in another state.

Chassis manufactures don't have to pay their COMPETITORS, they can pay credits to any ZEV manufacturers, and MOST of those don't make RV chassis. Kia, Hyundai, Volvo, XOS Trucks, Tesla, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, GM, Honda, etc. have excess credits available to manufacturers who haven't begun the transition to clean powerplants. SURE! they don't want to have to pay ANYONE else (not just competitors) because it comes out of their profits, but that's the carrot that governments have provided to give manufacturers the kick in the bu++ they need to clean up their act. They've been dragging their feet all these years. The ZEV credit program started THIRTY FIVE YEARS AGO!!! and now these folks have waited until the last minute (literally the last month) to start crying that they weren't given enough time to prepare. Give me a freaking break 🙄
@rvfishing8817
@rvfishing8817 3 күн бұрын
Actually the chassis manufacturers agreed to not oppose the rules. So they pressured there downstream customers to cause an issue and get some publicity rather than doing it themselves. Seems to have worked. Jason has done a great job covering this issue. But there are so many channels that have taken the bait, hook, line and sinker without questioning the issue because it confirms their preconceived notions.

@@rd4660 Duh! "WE ARE" paying the price of steel, the price of aluminum, the price of rubber, the price of copper, the price of fiberglass, labot, utilities, advertising, insurance, taxes... EVERYTHING. Everybody knows that ALL of the costs the manufacturer pays is, of course, passed on to the consumer. Nobody in their right mind thinks otherwise. " The one thing that vehicle manufacturers don't have to pass on is the costs of healthcare that pollution from emissions cost us. It's well past time for the oil companies to pay for the damage they've done to us. ZEV credits are one small contribution to the debt they owe us.

@@rd4660 100% percent agree, just like we pay for tariffs not the foreign nations. But there is a balance as any decision can be. Delaying the rule will probably cause 1000 premature deaths in CA. But that needs to be weighed against someone saving a couple of $K on their Phaeton. So it is really where your priorities lie.

I have unlimited 5g talk, text, data and hotspot from Visible for $35 I noticed they recently rolled out this plan for all customers, compared to Starlink $135 my last monthly bill when the motors quit working in my dish and they wanted me to buy a whole new system and also considering I needed an open spot in the satellites direction. I love the $100 monthly savings. I'm sure you can find some weak spots for Verizon service but considering the limitations of Starlink there is no comparisons.
