This is a common occurrence on the s-class. We have the same model. You don’t need to manually nudge the slide. When in your trailer at the electric control panel, simply push the slide switch to pull it in (YES IN!) just briefly to give it a nudge, then switch to out and it will come out with no issue

Glad it turned out to be nothing. So many Thor trailers (Which Grand designs is one of), espescially 5th wheels, are having problems with frames bending or breaking. Slides not working it often the first sign of it.

True. I wonder what the actual statistics are? Number of total RVs sold vs number of actual cases.

@@TheBimbleEffect That would be interesting to know. But it is happening at an alarming rate. Evidently enough that it takes them months to get around to looking at them and they are starting to ignore people having the problem.

I think you just nailed the actual problem perfectly. Issues will arise with these paper boxes on wheels, that's a given. It's a lack of responsiveness or accountability from the manufacturers that is the problem. I bet if RV owners were taken care of right when the issues arose, there wouldn't be nearly the level of concern. It's all about how they handle the problems.

Checking the owners’ manual should readily show how the manual slide operation works. Download a copy to your smartphone and you can search for troubleshooting tips and processes anytime you need it. Glad it all worked out 👍

This is not a twisted frame, that said GD does have major frame issues right now so stay alert to them

You may be right. Although, it hasn't happened since. Could it have just been off the gear a bit because we held the "OUT" button too long before we left? I just don't know. Maybe a little luck is involved. Also, no signs of frame flex or damage since. LETS GOOOO

I don't know about that. We have good friends with other brands who have had A LOT more trouble than us. I think we're just lucky. 2 years in and hardly any real problems compared to other brands and other folks with GDs.
