Grand Duke (2006) - Entry of Prince and Princess of Monte Carlo

Its amateur and I admire any company who has a go at this. GD is my fave and underperformed.

The Prince and Princess are both very good, but the vocal balance is spoiled completely by having female supernumeraries. I love hearing the Princess's vocal line on the Aahs, but it is masked by so many voices in the same octave.

I'm sorry but this does THE GRAND DUKE absolutely no favours whatsoever. The principals are lagging behind - the female chorus is totally wrong as another comentator remarks - it upsets the entire balance. Southampton Op should know better.
