I liked a lot of the ideas here: the tempo changes, reharmonization, and outro were all effective, I think. But the constant muddiness was a bit monotonous for me and at odds with the tone of the song. The entire movie builds up to the chorus of this song where it is both literally bright outside because of Hina's sacrifice, but also figuratively finally clear after Hodaka's confession of love and his desire to bring her back. That clean-ness, or 潔さ in the original song, was something I missed in this rendition. Having a contrast between the muddier reverb sections and a crisp climax would have, in my opinion, elevated this arrangement to another level.

I haven't watched this, but I got the general sense of what it's about. Anyways. I stared up at the sky. The clouds drifted aimlessly above, stitched onto a quilt of vibrant, constant, indescribably calming blue. I can't breathe. The serenity overwhelms me. I can't fight it, but I'm not even sure if I want it to stop anymore... I feel... at peace, like everything is going to be ok. Like I'm ok. I remember where I am and walk at the crossing. At work, huddled inside a glass tower grasping for the heavens, I work on a story. It's a story about a band of heroes that save the world. After an hour, or more realistically like five minutes, I can't help myself. I go up to the roof, under the guise of needing some air. Upon the roof, everything is small. I see cars passing on streets stretching miles below. I look up again and see the sky, there, and waiting for me. I smile contentedly. It's just one of those days. Everything is ok. I'm ok... It's ok.

@@fancycat6817 Yes I agree, people tried to compare it to kimi no na wa (they expected kimi no na wa 2) and came out dissapointed. Overall I agree that it has a similar structure but it surpasses Kimi no na wa since it improved on the structure. It has a greater cast (all the characters mattered) The music was just as good, the animation was better and finally there was no major plot hole unlike kimi no na wa. Not to take anything away from kimi no na wa but I enjoyed tenki no ko much more. 10/10 can't wait for Shinkai Sensei's next work

What I love most about this (along with all of your orchestrations) is the fact that you've created your own art piece; like you've created the soundtrack for a feeling or a moment that only exists in our heads.
