The Murky Cup is a Heroes of the Storm tournament with a prizepool of $2000! Through the course of 6 Qualifiers the participating teams collect points and the Top 6 teams advance to the playoffs. The Murky Cup uses a bounty system to incentivize teams to think outside the box and use non-meta Heroes. In addition every hero can only be played once within a Bo3 or Bo5 series, to ensure more Hero diversity.

Strangely enough, butcher and qhira have some degree of synergy - with the ability to chain their cc via butcher e guaranteeing qhira's followup cc. It's still terrible, but it makes it slightly less bad than you'd think. In most cases, the cc duration is enough to guarantee a kill provided you aren't sprinting into the middle of 5 enemies unsupported... which is sadly what normally happens for a butcher. Obviously you could just go taunt varian to combo with either of them and get a safer version of the same effect, but where's the fun in that?

The twinblade (and butcher) stans base their hero strength opinions on just standing in place and trading autoattacks without moving until you die. They must lead such a blissful, simple existence, I'm almost jealous. But then they're toxically confident despite their limited perspective and it's a pain in the ass. Dunning-Kruger at its finest!

I find this comment interesting. I’ve enjoyed HOTS content for years and played for most of its existence. I’m probably a decent player on a good day. Truth be told I’m not in the position to play HOTS atm life wise. Let’s just say that long story short, hots in super fun and I always found the macro aspects enjoyable as well as the micro situations. Particularly what I found was challenging was thinking beyond myself. That is, map awareness and position of allies as well as potential dangers on the map. It’s very fun to try and read the map to predict enemy movement and to communicate intentions, since it adds a nice layer to the game that otherwise emphasizes awesome skirmishes and objectives. I don’t even think this begins to describe hots. This is all to say that I cannot imagine how challenging and rewarding casting a game is. Say if Khaldor is doing the production himself like watching the map and talents and objectives and everything for two teams while conveying and teaching us about the game and having fun. To be honest that sounds like fun and challenging. Like you’d hafta be fully engaged and invested in loving what you do to do this for a game that the devs have not supported as much (which I hope changes which it’s been great to see patches and bug fixes, hopefully more comes!). You might be correct, maybe it was a miss. Maybe with another team or camera crew and production we could catch every big moment in the game. This costs time, effort, and production overall and lots of organizing and managing because this is after all a business as well and tied to the livelihood of himself and the players. However, I think this is a stylistic choice. When you play the game yourself, you are not present at every team fight all the time. Often, your teammates get into small skirmishes or moments. Or you’re team fighting and things go awry, you miss moments or opportunities. Maybe this is an artistic interpretation….i suppose I see this as staying true to the in game experience. Sometimes less stimuli is more. Gives the viewer time to breathe as well. My apologies, this is a lot of rambling, but my hope is to convey that in the game, as in life, nobody can capture every opportunity there is. Sometimes you just wanna chat and process things. Anyways peace my friend ✌️ ☮️

I maintain my opinion that this rule of "use this hero only once in every bo3 or bo5" is silly... I'd rather see 2-3 extra bans per team every match and keep it on their strategy... Anyway

Hmmm….i get what you mean in the sense of a close series often is more entertaining than a one sided series. Though, I think one should consider the collective qualifiers. The dudes, exodus stack, team ash, and maybe others have won the grand final. And also, exodia stack lost a series before early on by losing against Storm League Enjoyers. There have been subs throughout the tournament so idk who the main rosters of any team are. Overall though, every team has had an awesome series, and each team has had a terrible series for whatever reason. Personally I find that awesome, it means that on any given series, any team is competitive enough to have a close series or even outright stomp their opponent. So you don’t quite know what’s gonna happen and that makes hots so fun to watch. You add bounties to the mix and suddenly you get strategies, team fights, and expert players with niche picks so we get to see some spectacular stuff we don’t normally see outside QM or HL. Qualifier #6 and you’re in the grand finals, team ash is probably in a solid position in the standings, as is exodia stack. Maybe this match would have 0 impact on seeding, so wouldn’t it be logical to take 3 risks at a greater share of GUARANTEED MONEY than to play it safe and not change your position in the standings? Even if you do change position in standings, wouldn’t it be in your interest to attempt bounties even if you fail because then you get in practice against a strong team with a bad comp, which in the end is the BEST practice to have. If teams are able to achieve this with unviable heroes, they can rock on a good day. Peace and love my friend ☮️ ✌️

@@RedSlime27 You have to win to get the bounty. So no, if you're outclassed, you don't go for the bounties. You abuse enemy going for bounties to even the odds and win the series. If you're the stronger team OR evenly matched, you consider going for bounties - especially if the other side is also going as it guarantees someone completes a bounty. Granted, the outclassed part doesn't apply here as either team could win on a given day.

Your logic is flawed although i do understand how you think it is correct. Think a bit harder you'll get it eventually.
