I feel like the steeplechase is the most dangerous horse riding sport....there is an equal chance of the rider and horse getting injured really bad....but I guess it would be a thrill of a lifetime for them.

At one fence I noticed a horse that didn't jump the fence; but the jockey did. Awesome

You can't force a horse to jump so if they pull up the jockey gets thrown forwards. Like going over the handlebars of a bike when you brake too hard.

Does anyone know if the 2007 & 2008 Grand Nationals are online anywhere? I think I've got versions (some of them not great) from 1960-date apart from those. I've found one with some Spanish commentary but apart from that, nothing.

.....difficult to find these BBC Nationals.....I have 1960-2005 and 2012 but cant find 2006 to 2011.....apart from Racing UK coverage...

No favourites here. Clips were chosen for visual clarity, incident and commentary flow as much as possible. No high-tech editing software, just record/pause, so not perfect by any means.

I've noticed that in recent years the fences have been reduced in size - should have been done ages ago - this is a very dangerous horse race not only for the jockeys but also for the horses!!
