@@ithinkitwaskhamas EA does not care if the Game is good or not, only that it Sells enough numbers to meet sales targets, and also leads to enough people buying the Microtransactions to meet their Targets in terms of MTX. Its all about Da Moneyz for EA as well. Basically, if you want a Good F1 Game, you need to wait for an Industry Crash, because its the only way to get the F1 Game Series back into the Hands of Talented Independent Developers like Crammond.

@@JosephPetrassi I have to agree, I Strongly question the Competence of Codemasters Liverpool (the F1 Team) after the Shocking Display of Turn 10 level Incompetence seen with F1 2024, I do agree that Codemasters Liverpool have got to go. Codemasters Birmingham (the DiRT/WRC/GRiD Team) are Considerably more Competent, but, sadly, would not suit an F1 Game.

I learned a lot about race driving from this game. One of the key ideas was a line from the instruction manual, about the difference between being fast and being quick. "Anyone can go fast in a Formula 1 car. The difficulty is in being *quick* around a circuit."

I still play GP 4. Nothing brings the immersion factor like this game did! Variable weather and developing dry lines and it can even be wet on one part of the track and dry in another. Nothing has done weather conditions quite like GP4.

Looks great, congratulations on the hard work and best of luck 🏁 For me, nothing Automobilista can do could ever match the feel of the original Crammond GP series. The AI, weather, immersion etc… it’s unmatched. With the right mods and tweaks available in 2024, the game is still the best F1 sim available, for my money. To this very day there are members of forums popping up with new findings from the code of the game and making it better and better. It may have been unfinished on release, but now it’s a polished gem. Very difficult to improve upon. But as I said, I wish the project well!!

One of the best to this day. It's hilarious that IRacing "discovered" rain in 2024. GP3 and GP4 had it in 2000. I even remember F1 GP having it for the Amiga version but I could be wrong. PS: I'll be waiting this

LOL, one of my motivations for making this mod is that Grand Prix 3 and 4 never run well on my PC. Sadly I have fixed all texture mapping problems in the original game so no surprises this time :)

The original Grand Prix on the Amiga was my early teenage years. Only got to race 2,3 & 4 at my friends as never had a PC till now. Guess there's no chance of this on AMS2? Oh well, looks that bloody good i'll just have to buy AMS for it. Well done as that looks amazing, managing to look like the original but completely modern. I am quite confident about that, AMS's AI is always fun to race with, and I have done countless hours of test driving with both wheel and keyboard!

That would be great! Currently this is a league edition, all cars have the same physics but I use driver talent files to create realistic car performances, which works well in the race.

Which is better? The AMS or rf1 version? I have AMS but i have never stepped into rf1 (or rf2 for that matter). Any advantage/disadvantage to either sim?

AMS version, for better graphics and physics. The only advantage of rF1 is that it has better FPS performance and has much more mods available. But I still think rF1 is worth trying, it is very interesting to play with different mods made by teams with pure passion (F1 2006 and GTPC for example), which is quite rare nowadays.

Amazing job, however Rain gona Work in the AI of rfactor? Because i remenber even with RFE plugin, the AI never put raik tyres, only in practice,qualifing, warmup and start of the race, in mid race they use dry tyres.

Yeah, you are right, it's a shame that AI won't pit for wet tires, but it's okay for a 10-lap short race where there is no need to change tires.

The good news is that you don't need a high-spec pc! This mod is very lightweight and has very high fps performance! Also, AMS and rFactor have very low hardware requirements :)

Currently, it is only on rF1. Several years ago someone contacted me and started working to port this mod to rF2. But no more new progress since then. I hope one day he will finish the mod and release it. I agree with you... But I think F1 Challenge doesn't need a remaster because the original game's quality is so good that it still holds up today. It has high-resolution skins (compared with GP4), very detailed cockpit graphics and good physics, the whole game is already near perfect in every way. (Ah yes, I am a big fan of F1 challenge)

A remake can't change the game essence, the same response and the same keys available. GP4 like all Microprose games were very good with Keyboard, with manual gears with Throtle+Space and Brake+Space. My Ryzen can't manage GP4 with only one core, It's a stutter fest.

How often we a "remastered" from a game? And the GP4 wasn't a good game at all... it was so buggy with a lot of things. I played the 2, the 3 and the 2000 season... but GP4 was the reason that Geoff Crammond stopped producing games... GP4 wasn't finished at the release... and that was a big mistake... :( And by the way: I don't know why everybody is so happy about this teaser... the game don't look like a remastered version of GP4... it looks nearly exact like the old game.

Yes, the car shape looks nearly exactly like the old game. This mod is meant to 'simulate' the GP4 game instead of the real 2001 season cars. If it doesn't have the original game's look and feel, there is no point calling it GP4 remaster, we can just call it a 2001 season mod for AMS. If you look closely, you will find lots of improvements like high-res textures, more special effects and better cockpit graphics, etc. (More details in the description) I kind of agree with what you said about GP4, in comparison with EA's F1 released in the same period, it isn't strong in many aspects: the inaccurate car models, low resolution textures, and all cars are using the same cockpit graphics. During the remastering process, I found lots of issues existed in the car models like the UVs are mapped in a very rushed way, and no ambient shadows are painted on the skins, resulting in a very flat look of the cars. These are also what I fixed during the remastering process.
