I own a 9F GS. It recently started jumping 2 seconds at a time. Before changing the battery, I checked its accuracy. Over the last 365 days it gained 1.3 seconds…amazing. I need a spring drive in my life.

I use another 9F, SBGX339, to set my mechanical watches. Amazing accuracy. BTW, these quartz GMT are available all day long for less than $3k on Chrono24 from Japanese dealers. Great deal at that price.

I have the SGLA001and a 9F model. I love the sweep of the SD.

Quartz has the additional advantage of being low maintenance.

Those watches were weighed in the most ridiculous units I've ever seen used for the purpose 😂 Might as well give the time keeping in slugs!

What ruins spring drive for me is that there is a wall clock in every room at my dogs veterinary office and they all have a smooth sweep.

The spring drive looks better due to the curved case. Both great watches.

Both are great. But although the springdrive will run forever a 15 second a month is so so for an expensive hybrid watch. If i want a quartz watch which runs forever and has some sort of mechanical component in it kinetic is an option and much cheaper. So 9f is the one i prefer...

So so? Hybrid watch? Who else makes a hybrid watch and who’s hybrid is better than 15 seconds?

I wouldn’t call the spring drive a quartz I would call it a hybrid no battery

The quartz crystal is not involved in moving the hands in either type of watch (spring driven or stepper motor driven), it purely provides an accurate time basis. I consider both forms of quartz watches. Neither is inherently superior over the other.

@watchchris, how does the thicker clasp with the micro adjust wear compared to the thinner clasp? Is the thinner clasp more comfortable with a correct fit? Or do you not even notice the thicker clasp?
when the other loresum vids coming out? you've only reviewed one of the three given to you, really looking forward to it

Ok, 9f quartz movement is absolutely fenomenal…however it’s still $3000 for a quartz watch - mixed feelings.
@NoizeTank Жыл бұрын
That’s why you go for a used SBGN001/003/005 for around $2000

It’s the holy grail of quartz movements though. And for some that appreciate quartz, that’s much cooler than the mechanical movement you get in a more expensive Tudor for example. Including me. But not for others, and that’s okay too Edit: I guess the cal.0100 is also the Holly grail of quartz. But out it’s not comparable to a mechanical in the same way as far as I know. A 9F is about longevity and serviceability ina way that makes it a proper alternative to a mechanical piece. The cal.0.100 is more a demonstration of the cutting edge of movement technology
@edwardcatt2399 Жыл бұрын
Why? Because you think that quartz is less ‘artisanal’ than auto? 🤣

Learn and understand what you're talking about before making a video. Spring Drive is not a Quartz movement ! Spring Drive is a mechanical movement that uses a quartz crystal.
