Never imagined I’d produced so much drool over a green and white watch. 🤤

Got the SBGJ237 from the same Sport collection with the high beat. Love the midnight blue and white, but the green dial version is quite the looker as well!

I have the SBGE257. Great watch and comfortable as hell. Bought pre owned from Exquisite Timepieces. Shout out to Jenya. She’s a pleasure to deal with.

“They are proud of their movement”. It’s basically the most revolutionary movement in the history of horology since invention of quartz. Spring drive is literally Robocop of watch world. Imagine if Swiss or Rolex made this movement,I guarantee you Rolex would sell a watch with this movement close to six figures.

I just wish they made their sport watches a little smaller and thinner.. Would be an instant buy.

I would appreciate it if GS would make this style of sport GMT watches smaller than 44(?)mm. I gave it a shot and tried one at a boutique, the one with the blue/white bezel with cloudy sky blue dial. Looks awesome, but, the visual presence on my 7" wrist was a bit too much. I hope they can get it downsized to a 39-40mm some day. I'd even be ok with 41mm. And, if they do, flatten down the thickness, too. Thanks GS in advance. Yes, I know they have other GMT watches that are more compact. But, I want this style with the bi-directional rotating bezel, only a bit smaller.

Beautiful, Rob! I’ve owned two Spring Drive Seiko 600m divers. Hope you are doing well. Oh and I’m currently working on buying a really cool orange dial Swiss made diver. I have to admit that you have me looking at orange dial divers now!

This watch is really nice but 43.5 is too big for me. The attention to detail on this watch compared to the average rolex is mind-blowing.
@dosprompt54184 ай бұрын
Depends on which details you are referring to. Fit, bracelet, sizing, timeless design, value retention? Just some of the details that the "average" Rolex gets a little better than GS.

@@dosprompt5418 I mean the interesting and beautiful texture of the dial, the silver circle between the dial and the bezel, the asymmetrical bezel, the smoothness of the hacking, the movement finishing which will blow the Rolex out of the water, the Zaratsu polishing, the colour gradient of the power reserve, the better lume, the higher accuracy, the silky smooth seconds hand from the unique Spring Drive, etc. Although it's not perfect for the reasons you mention which I agree with. But to me it's a lot more unique, accurate, and interesting than having an essentially mass-produced and mass-marketed watch.

@@dosprompt5418 the details are the beautiful and interesting dial, the Zaratsu polishing, the asymmetrical bezel, the silver ring between the bezel and the dial, the precise hacking movement, the high accuracy, the gradient on the power reserve indicator, the vastly superior finishing of the movement, the well distributed lume, the silky smooth sweeping seconds hand from the unique Spring drive movement, etc. But I do agree with your points still the Rolex has the upper hand in those categories. For me though I'd rather have something unique, accurate, and interesting rather than a more expensive, mass-produced (to a high level) and mass marketed watch.

Rob is an awesome youtube watch reviewer, but he hardly says anything bad about the watches from Exquisite timepieces. As for this one, I think that the curvature of the clasp is just too much and for $6K plus, GS got to do better with the clasp. That is just my opinion. Thanks Rob for the review. By the way, the green is just lovely color.

Generally I am not a fan of Grand Seiko. Fantastic calibers among the best. Fantastic dials. Ultra finishing. And yet in 99% of the times for me they are emotionless. Nevertheless I quite like the model displayed years. Thanks for the wonderful review.

Did you notice the idiotic 72 click adjustable bezel? This means 20 minute setting accuracy, but there are no 20 or 40 minute time zones anywhere. There are 30 minute (India) and even 15 minute ones (Nepal). This means that only 48 or 96 clicks make any sense, offering 30 and 15 minute setting accuracy besides full hours..

Seiko spring drive ALL DAY LONG OVER ROLEX.
@Anonymouslyme14 ай бұрын
You say that but only Grand Seiko can service these watches and they are notorious for not keeping spare parts for older watches. I’ve read various stories about people with 8-10 year old Grand Seiko watches that are broken and need repair but Seiko don’t carry the spare parts any longer. As such their Grand Seiko watch is good for nothing and worthless. That would make me very wary of buying a GS Spring Drive watch.
@Splash1114 ай бұрын
@Anonymouslyme1 Try getting an Omega co-axial part, or Tissot. I think Hamilton shares same silicone balance spring. I'd like to hear someone chime in. It's not that I don't believe you but there are many high end watches you can't get parts for. I've not heard of a Seiko Spring drive needing anything other than routine maintenance. Also I'm just not a fanboy of Rolex. Besides the exorbitant price, their watches are boring. I have an Orient Ray 2 that I adjusted 2 years ago. It stays within 4 seconds a day fast. I also have an NH35 movement that I adjusted to about the same except is lises about 4 seconds a day which is fine by me. I think the accuracy, the Snowflake dial and hands look much more interesting than any Rolex. Rolex to me is like a Corvette. Some Youngs have them, but it's frequently an old guy, usually with a cliche gold wrist chain on the other arm that buy Rolex's. I get it that Rolex is worldwide known and can be used as tender if needed....but still ...boring

The price is the only thing I don’t love about this one. I know it’s worth the price. It’s just too rich for my wallet.
