Made the trip up this weekend. Bummed to find out the pier is not open to fishing. Plenty of whiting in the surf though.

@@FishingFloridaWithKO any advice on the pompano? I had two rigs out today with sand fleas and shrimp too at some points. Only whiting and some cats were chewing. Got a nice size red. Nice surprise. But I would love to get a few pomp’s before heading home. Thanks!
@FishingFloridaWithKO3 жыл бұрын
Yes my brother. Fish during high tide. They will be closer. Cast it out on the deep end after the sand bar. Sand fleas and fish gums work the best for me. USE CIRCLE HOOK! #1.. the only thing is the surf is little too rough from the storm surge.. I hope you get them 😎 🤙

I love the Cocoa Beach pier do you have any advice for catching big fish there?
@FishingFloridaWithKO5 жыл бұрын
You see big black drums there and big whitings.. But that's it for big fish. Not many bigger fish comes there as it is very shallow now since they did the sand filled project last year. They wanted to attract more tourists to the beach and pier and get the canal more deep for the cruise ships. They moved the same from Port Canaveral to the Cocoa Beach. Still good fishing on a high tide and north winds. Good luck 👍😎 and thanks for watching and subscribing

Kaan Orer Are there still big fish at Jetty Park and Cape Canaveral Pier? Because I’m going there in January and trying to catch some big red drum and snook.
@FishingFloridaWithKO5 жыл бұрын
@@andreaskarakousis1510 You will catch good size black drum for sure. But not snook. If you want to catch a nice size snook, you need to go to Sebastián inlet

any tips on catching pompano this time of year. New to the are and pompano fishing but would love to catch some. Any tips appreciated!
@FishingFloridaWithKO5 жыл бұрын
Right now the pompano bite is hot. Go to the beach, get yourself a bag of sand fleas, or catch them at the beach under the sand. That's the best bait for them. Live Shrimp works as well. You need to use a pompano rig with 2 or 3 hooks size #1 or #2 and floaters. They have ready rigs at the tackle shops if you don't want to make your own 👍 use a braided line on your main line to cast out as much as possible 😎good luck and report back.

I hate what they did to the end of the pier. Used to be my spot on that back right corner. Oh well, there's always Sebastian Inlet.
@FishingFloridaWithKO4 жыл бұрын
Yeah man. It used to be great. Now, they don't even allow you to fish there 🙈
@tomecalm74 жыл бұрын
@@FishingFloridaWithKO I know. I stopped going there. And have been looking for a new spot around the Daytona/ New Smyrna/ Ponce inlet area. Actually talking about going tomorrow. Do you have any recommendations of another decent place? I know Sebastian Inlet is FIRE, but I'm in Leesburg, so that's an extra hour drive. Even with the extra drive, it may be worth it, but weather reports aren't looking very promising there tomorrow, so I was thinking of staying on the north side of that rain band.

@@FishingFloridaWithKO Oh, and TYVM for the live shrimp advice. I NEVER catch with that here in FL. Originally from New Orleans, and they SLAUGHTER live shrimp out there. So, as you can see, this has been VERY frustrating to me on many trips. Now, I KNOW why I haven't been catching. Pays to do your homework sometimes! LOL
