I was wondering the same! I slowed the animation down it looks like his sword blade dissappear and he shoots it from the hilt

that blade probably the same as jay which could transform into a gun

It is said in lore that the phantom bullet is a seed wich can be transformed in any kind of fuel like even for a laser gun or a bow so if it can become an arrow it could become a sword.
