You are the BEST for how well you filmed and explained everything. Especially the stills with the lines/arrows on them that you drew too. So helpful and thanks so much for making this!

I’ve watched every grand teton solo video on youtube and this is the best one. Thanks for putting in the effort to film everything from 3rd person!

Absolutely incredible video! Exceptionally well made and hands down the best guide I’ve come across so far.

I have been contemplating this trip for years. This is the perfect video I needed, to see just what each obstacle above the upper saddle is. Whew! My heart got pumping just watching, not gonna lie!

Saw you up there this past summer! You were headed up the middle from the saddle in between the grand and middle! Good video dude!

This is the only video I’ve found on KZbin covering the descent on this route, I really appreciate the content.

Thank you! Yes, I think that most groups here are doing the repel rather than downclimbing.

Watching you do this route I can't believe I did it back in the late 80's. A lot younger then but a great memory to have.

@@Dmachine2000 It is a great memory to have! One of my favorite mountains for sure.

Do you know if it is allowed to go to the top in March?

Hi, To climb to the summit, is there a guide I can contact? Do you recommend any? Thank you!

Great video. I have a question please. What is a switchback? Thanks
@davidfancsali2 ай бұрын
Thank you! The switchbacks are and back and forth trails that zig zag up the base of the mountain. Generally the trails are made this way to prevent erosion, but they also can be quite tedious!

@@davidfancsali It's also easier on your body than trying to climb straight up the slope. I hiked up the Olympic ski slope at Cortina, Italy kinda' straight up the hill, which seemed about 50 degrees. Don't know exactly but I do know that going up it was steep enough that my face was almost touching the grass. Anyway, I was praying for switchbacks. It was slow going.
@davidfancsali2 ай бұрын
@@Dmachine2000 That's a fair point. Although I would add that climbing straight down the slope is even worse!

I was planning on doing this hike in the next couple weeks I can do a 5.9 and 5.10 quite easily indoors. I’ve been climbing mountains outdoors for a little over a year now and haven’t done anything this crazy yet. Do you think it’s doable? Awesome video btw!
@davidfancsali4 ай бұрын
Thank you! From a strictly technical standpoint this should be easy for you. However, do take into consideration that this route is quite long (about 7,000 feet vertical gain) if you're planning on doing it in one day. And you'll have to deal with the altitude as well. Also make sure that you're comfortable with exposure and route finding. But yes, definitely doable!
