Vice City takes place in the summer of 1986, San Andreas takes place in the winter of 1992, and GTA 3 takes place in 2001. This is a timeline created by Rockstar that aligns with the games characters, as Ken Rosenburg becomes the jittery mess that he is during Vice City and is still like that in San Andreas, where as Catalina is originally with CJ but leaves him for Claude (the main character of GTA 3) in San Andreas. Catalina goes on to be the primary antagonist in GTA 3. The stories line up well. GTA Vice City and San Andreas are technically both prequels.

Claude was interpreted as a cooled blooded killer in this game if you think about it. He (the player) litrelly killed hundreds of people with out hesitation. There's no doubt in my mind that he killed Mariah for getting on his nerves. He chased after Catalina to get vengeance on her, not for his interest in Mariah. Why would he care about one girl when he (the player) shot, and ran over so many of them. I'm positive that he killed her at the end. People say that he shot the air, which makes no sense because there's no indication or proof that he did. It makes much more sense to assume that he killed her, don't you think?

The intro song and style during the intro, with those panes moving in at 0:39 was really an announcement of the 'new era' of videogames by R*... I know it seems really simple now, but watching those for the first time you really got the impression this was almost like an entirely new medium. This is where games were put on the map like movies when it came to production value, storytelling, themes etc. Still blows my mind how this was made in 2001, and so...
