Sidhu is known for his gangsta tracks and now a flag bearer of punjabi hiphop alongside Bohemia. Eventhough he doesn't promote much drugs/alcohol in his songs, he is dropping similar hits in succession rapidly and punjabi music is already notorious for violent songs. He was denied big labels for long time but when he bombed with 'So high' there was no going back. So overnight success=overnight criticism. Wearing a turban makes it hard to distance him from punjabi culture. It doesn't help either that he got 6 cases filed on him for illegal arms possession. Each family in punjab has one or more young ones settled in west so it is impossible to deny the impact. Most of our punjabi vintage classics are gangsta. Way before rap was introduced. So punjabi music and western hiphop was match made in heaven🤑
