X Japan is a Japanese rock band from Chiba, formed in 1982 by drummer and pianist Yoshiki and lead vocalist Toshi. Starting as a predominantly power/speed metal band with heavy symphonic elements, they later gravitated towards a progressive sound with an emphasis on ballads.

To help answer your questions: This was a music video for the movie Saw IV, which this song was made for. It's pronounced as the letters I V. It's also the first song they made when the band reunited in 2007. The band initially broke up in 1997 and then their main guitarist, hide (pronounced Hee-day), died 5 months afterwards. He's the one on the monitors with the pink hair. This song was made using some of his unused guitar riffs, which is why you see one of his guitars standing on its own throughout the video. Yoshiki is the leader of the band and is the drummer, pianist and main composer. Toshi is the vocalist. Pata is the rhythmic guitarist. Heath, the bassist, passed away last October. Their song "Kurenai" gets covered a lot. The drummer Yoshiki is famous for his philanthropy. He co-wrote a song with Roger Taylor of Queen. He has been to the Royal box at Ascot.

I'm not sure I can answer all your questions, I'll tell you what little I know or found out about X Japan from finding out about BABYMETAL. X Japan (yes, all male) were the creators of Visual Kei (think hair metal but add a Japanese twist and take it to an extreme) and are probably the most influential and important Japanese metal band. They were so big that they sold out the Tokyo Dome (55,000 people) 18 times ... don't doubt they can do it all live. Yoshiki is the founder, pianist, drummer and main composer. He is pretty much legendary in Japan and was even commissioned to compose an orchestral piece for some special event or celebration for the Japanese Emperor. BABYMETAL feature a neck brace in many of their performances - this is just one of the ways they pay homage to Yoshiki and X Japan - he damaged his neck headbanging and needed surgery then had to wear a neck brace for a long time, especially when performing, to avoid further damage. X Japan split up at the end of 1997 when the singer Toshi was persuaded to join a cult by his wife - they took everything he had and only some years later when he managed to leave the cult did X Japan re-form. Sadly their lead guitarist Hide (Hee-deh) passed away not long after they split up (tens of thousands lined the streets for his funeral). They did show some glimpses of him in this video (on a screen in a couple of scenes, he was in a green jacket with pink hair) and I believe the guitar that was featured a couple of times was also his. I don't know if it was the bassist in this video who also passed away not so long ago. Yoshiki did a special new year performance on a TV special during lock down of the X Japan classic 'Endless Rain' featuring Roger Taylor and Brian May from Queen together with opera singer Sarah Brightman and a very select few Japanese artists including BABYMETAL. You can find that on Queen's official channel (don't even try to do a reaction, it will be blocked before you even post it). BABYMETAL's songs 'Akatsuki' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow' are inspired by and pay homage to X Japan's 'Kurenai' and 'Endless Rain' respectively.

Please do more X Japan, if you want a faster song listen to Kurenai, or a good ballad do the Endless Rain, They are defianetly a Live band so you should react to a live performance, the more you go back in years the wilder they get, the Last Live was one of the best lives of the band. you asked about the songs name about being I.V or 4, well its basically both since it was for the movie SAW 4 (IV) but if you listen to the lyrics it becomes clear that the song also means I.V as in having IV. The producer and composer Kei Kobayashi, the genius creator of Babymetal, He is a fan of XJapan. Akatsuki by Babymetal, is inspired by Kurenai by XJAPAN No rain no rainbow of babymetal, is a tribute to Endless rain by XJAPAN Headbanguer by Babymetal, has references to XJAPAN Babymetal Death, concert "Legend 1997" Apocalypse. They refer to Yoshiki baterista, pianista, líder de XJAPAN "We are X"

Nothing getting blocked by Japanese bands, but id rather delete than filter if they was, But every blocked video so far has been cleared on appeal.

Remember that in the 80s, It was difficult to find bands from other places, especially here in Latin America, but I had the opportunity to have access to this incredible band. This band is part of my love for Babymetal
