I know this movie touched a lot of people. A lot of you felt the emotional connection between him and his brother and mother. 90% of the cinema I was in left in tears, including myself. But it was more than just the story for me. I felt such an amazing connection to the young adult Saroo, because his acting was everything I've ever felt. I'm an adopted child who still hasn't met his mother and brother, and I'm around his age. I can honestly say I've never cried this much in my entire life. The feelings he portrayed, the pain he went through, the haunting thoughts, the feeling that constantly reminds you that you can't forget - yet you still make yourself think about it less... But sometimes, you can't help it. In those cases, you don't sleep, you don't function as others expect you to. You feel distant, closed inside your own head, with no way out. Then it sets in. The fear of the unknown. Not knowing what you'll find when you do return. The one line in the movie which struck me the most is one said by his adoptive mother. After he admitted to his mother that he had been trying to find his village, her words absolutely broke me. She said: "Oh Saroo. I really hope she's still there. She needs to see what a beautiful young man you've become." Absolutely gut wrenching. Amazing movie, amazing cast, and an even more incredible story.

I am adopted as well and I cried throughout the entire movie. I feel like I can hardly even review it because my eyes were watering the whole time. And at the end I sobbed uncontrollably when everyone else was leaving the theatre. You definitely weren't the only one who felt such a personal connection with this story. I hope that someday you find your biological family as Saroo did.

We should all be thankful for what we've got, even if we don't have things that other people have.

Yeah I agree with others, the film was beautiful. The ache for home, for his mum and brother was palpable, played fantastically by Dev Pattel. He's got my respect! And even Nicole Kidman did a good job I thought. For some reason her performance was also palpable; I got a sense of what she smelled like. Weird, ay? Yeah. Weird! Great film, 5 stars, and the music has brought me here so it's clearly fantastic too!

This piece gives me such intense nostalgic feelings: Memories of sitting in the movie theater with family members, that familiar aroma of buttered popcorn filling the air, the usual bag of M&Ms and medium sized fruit punch in my hands, that awesome stretch you get when you stand up with the credits rolling and another piano piece playing. Movie theaters hold some of my best life memories, and one of my greatest fears is that they will one day become obsolete.
