This had me rolling and brought back an old memory about under-estimating your opponent. Growing up in Baton Rouge, my friends and I use to dominate our local basketball court. We were not thugs (we all grew up to be professionals and/or military vets) but we were respected by the thugs who use to also play on the court and who had previously tried to intimidate us during games. On day, a car full of unassuming, tall, white guys pulled up to the park. They had more height than us, but preconceived notions about natural abilities led us down the wrong path -- to bite off more than we could chew. We challenged them to play against us and talked crap to them at the start of the game. To say that we got washed by them would be an understatement. They easily took us to school for three games straight. Before leaving, they advised us that they were the bench players for the LSU Tigers Basketball Team. So, even the guys who only play during trash time for college programs will KILL you on the court. It's a different level of basketball, and we learned to check our stereotypes at the door going forward!
