Having a Green Card (Lawful permanent residency in the USA), becoming a citizen or arriving legally to the United States does NOT provide protection from deportation. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services site has current rules for deporting all three categories for residents. Also, in the Project 2025 document section on immigration lowers the bar for deporting lawful immigrants to include "use of public benefits". Public benefits can be defined to include and exclude any number of benefits. For instance, children receiving free or reduced-price school lunch or public transportation or enrolling in the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are currently excluded from consideration based on Biden Executive Order 14012 on February 2, 2021. The list can be revised at any time with a new Executive Order.

As a black woman, I'm so proud to be a part of the 92%. When I was in college, I did a paper on Hurricane Katrina, and I do remember the lady wrapped in the flag. There were 1,392 fatalities while writing the paper. I felt extreme grief on how my people were treated during Hurricane Katrina. Writing the paper was very hard to do emotionally. The research and the stories broke my heart. I cried a lot, writing that paper. I got an A because I poured my heart and soul into that paper to symbolize that I cared. So, to see this painting brings back horrible memories of what we are still fighting for.

We have continued to create and cultivate the spaces that we need, even though we knew those spaces would be available for everyone else… We now wholeheartedly accept the truth that we must do it on the our own. Two, we have to do the same to gain and keep the freedom and rights for ourselves, our children, their children, etc, because no one else will. Oh yes. I've never seen this painting. But the commentator is correct. Black women have been trying to hold democracy together for years and years. I need that painting. I'm from Tennessee, and yes I voted for V. P. Harris to hold democracy together. I'm 73 years old, and I remember.

This made me ashamed of our country and teary eyed. Depressing. I voted for democracy and Kamala. Always admired her.

Wow! Thanks for sharing that incredible story. Black women are so amazing. We just didn’t get credit we deserve. Our capes and super hero suits are on the rack in the closet ready to use for our people.

I wonder if the people who didn't register to vote or those who chose not to vote...will they resist or continue to sit back and let others do the heavy lifting again?
@HenriettaHudson-we4wv15 күн бұрын
It's up to the individual. On November 5th, they had ample opportunity to be part of the solution. They chose to be part of the problem!!!

You're fully aware the popular vote is only useful for jury duty selection. The world doesn't care about who's popular.. they care who WINS. Blame the electoral college voters who chose Trump, not people who didn't submit a popular vote. 🤭

Tabitha, I couldn't comment on a couple of your shorts, but you SHOULD be proud to be part of 92%. My heart is full for the Black women of this country. It brings me to utter tears to think of the ignorance and hate that didn't elect Kamala to protect our democracy. I WILL stand with you. You have my heart and my respect.

That was a word… I needed that… I went anger to sadness to anxiety driven… That gave me a sense of calmness… The election brought up all the PTSD for me of being a black women with higher degrees in America… Thank you

Black men get it. They know what their mothers ,grandmothers , aunties went through , and what their daughters, granddaughters and sisters are going through now. Powerful image indeed. We will always be able to say we held the line.

That's beautiful. We need to rest now and worry about ourselves. We were trying to save democracy, and the women the party courts every election cycle were only worried about abortion laws. Which is why they made sure to strengthen those laws at the state level but not vote for VP Harris.

@Wanda-t1e15 күн бұрын
@@kenspear4297 I voted for democracy , I voted for equality, I voted for woman’s right to choose, I voted for I voted to help first time homeowners have a chance to buy a house even though I will never own my own , I voted for parents of a child 1 yr and under for a $6,000. tax break even though I don’t have any children. Also she would of helped with the economy, cutting cost of groceries, millions of people could of benefited from her helping with her building houses . This amazing , intelligent woman could of been a great President for America , for everyone not just the rich . Trump voters didn’t just screw them damn it but they screwed all of us .
