Thanks for sharing your friends shop. So many great gift ideas, I will definitely be checking their site out. I had to giggle when you said you didn’t know Esther Williams, I mean she was even before my time but I definitely feel old now, I love old movies and Jimmy Durante is one of my favorites. I have a friend who lives on Mackinac Island, they live it when the tourists leave and they have the island pretty much to themselves, and they love when it snows because they are allowed to ride their snow mobiles on the island then. They even receive Amazon packages by horse and carriage which I thought was adorable, like stepping back in time, which reminds me, did you ever hear of the movie with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour, “ Somewhere in Time”? It was made on the island, that was one exception they made to let a car on the island Check it out, it’s a lovely movie

Yes I have heard of the Christopher Reeves movie because grandma said they play it continuously at the Grand Hotel…I forgot to put that part in the video. This video took forever to do because I had so much information and could not include it all. So it was hard to decide what to include and exclude. I am so jealous of your friend that lives on the island! What a dream that would be! Getting packages from Amazon by horse and carriage is the most charming thing I can think of!!!!!! Wow! Thanks for supporting the shop ❤️

@@GrandmaLivesInTheBasement back in the late 70’s either 78 or 79, my husband took me to Mackinac Island , my first time ever being there as I grew up in California and Nevada and had only been in Michigan a couple of years, anyway he took me there and I fell in love with the charm and beauty of this beautiful world called Mackinac. I even tried to persuade him to buy me a house there, it was a cute little house on the back street and was about $20,000 back then, I kick myself all the time for not buying it 😞
