@CaveraDeMonte I am very sorry for your personal experiences and estrangement from your family. That said, your comment comes off as being rather presumptuous and judgemental. After all, you don't know the specifics of their personal family issues, nor do you know what they may have or may have not done already as far as attempts to repair any rifts in their family. To suggest that they are lacking in terms of ''having a mind for service that missionaries need'' based on the little-to-no info you have regarding their personal family issues is both unfair and irresponsible. They don't have to share personal family issues with viewers. It's quite literally none of our business. It sounds like you have gone through a lot of pain family-wise and I am genuinely sorry about that and I hope & pray that you are able to heal from it. Please try to not make assumptions about others and please be careful to not project your experiences/circumstances onto others. Everybody's story is different and will play out differently. I've always wanted to go on a mission however at 71 I'm just finishing raising children and caring for the elderly. Hey, it seems I am now a senior but not elderly!! I know the path I was to take included other things.I'm just leaving for six months to help my son farming along with his 18 year old son. My happy bit is we are 3,4,5, generations working together. 67 when you get home! I will anxiously waiting for updates.

Very honest answer Jennifer when the Dr. asked what you had for breakfast! I'm glad that your kids are gonna include Linda in their Christmas get togethers! Chad, you are such a loving, sweet, caring brother to Linda! Growing up I had an autistic brother 2 years younger than me and growing up was hard because I basically was forced to do a lot of the same things with him, mainly going to youth group activities together and I struggled growing up with loving my autistic brother! He is doing quite well these days and I pray for him every day! I have another special need story that might touch your heart: recently a family with a young teen girl with down syndrome joined my church, a group of teen girls have been kind to this girl with down syndrome and they let her sit with them in church every Sunday! I believe God created people who are autistic, retarted, have down syndrome, and people like Linda's condition to teach love, patience and respect! I'm glad you are better Chad! I'm sorry you got sick and couldn't go on the Alaskan Cruise with Julie's Family and Ellie's Family! Have a Blessed Day!

Keep in mind Belgrade is a big, cosmopolitan city in Serbia and has shopping malls, restaurants and all the amenities you can find in any major city. If I were you I would not load myself up with a lot of luggage. You can buy most supplies you need very inexpensively (socks, underwear, clothes, shoes, linens, etc.). You do not want to have to check a ton of luggage when you check in for flights. It's cumbersome, expensive and there is always the risk of baggage getting lost. Just remember to pack lightly...essentials only like enough prescription medication. I would also suggest going online to arrange for your social security to be directly deposited into your bank account each month since you'll be turning 65 during your absence. Your ATM card can be used at most major banks there. Well good luck and enjoy your time overseas. It's quite a beautiful country!

I’m so glad you got help with your hearing aids. My 9 year old daughter also has a Phonak hearing aid, which works along with her Advanced Bionics cochlear implant. It’s such amazing technology! We have a great audiologist who does everything possible to make hearing comfortable for my daughter.

Don’t worry about things that you want like ranch dressing because your kids can mail you non perishable items. My younger son and his wife live in Japan and I mail them boxes of things they can’t get in Japan and it only takes about a week for boxes to be delivered from New York to Japan. My husband and I have had a gold wing for many many years and although I’m not so keen on going on it now he still loves it and recently ungraded to the 1800. Here in the uk we don’t get the chance to use it to its full touring capabilities but he has gone to Europe on in a couple of times with others from the Goldwing Club that we are in. Many members are older than us I’m 60 he is 62 and many have changed to gold wing trikes but my husband just doesn’t want to - he says it doesn’t feel like a full motorcycle! But time will tell!
