This side chick is never satisfied. She is scheming, insecure, and greedy. The ex-wife gave up easily because she truly cared for this schmuck and she moved on with her life and her daughter. That's why her karma was better. The schmuck and this side chick had a great life together and had more wealth thar they earned together, but eventually, all those insecurities and, doubts, and the ex hubby's guilt of what he had done to his ex wife caught up with them. He wanted to compensate his ex-wife and daughter, but his betrayal of his vows in marriage and family are what brought him to the end result. He broke up with that side chick. His conscience wouldn't allow him to marry her because he didn't feel right about his betrayal. I believe the wife did love him. Maybe not passionately, but he was her husband, and she cared for him with her whole heart. You can't compensate for that with money or material things. I believe he outgrew his country wife, and this slag had a more city look and was more cosmopolitan air that he wasn't used to. I guess he forgot she left him when he got hurt and it was the (ex) wife who married him and helped him recuperate and got him walking again. She deserved better and the 2nd ML is better.

You are right, the side chick was a manipulator from the beginning, she left him when he was disabled the wife helped him get back on his feet and the side chick saw that he was walking again and becoming successful and she went after him with every trick in the book, first making him feel sorry for her and wanting to protect her, he couldn’t find peace because he abandoned the woman who loved him, sacrificed and cared for him when he couldn’t care for himself. They also didn’t tell his mother that she could not have children, so him being an idiot and her deceit and greed caught up with them! The ex wife ended up living happily with her family

He thought he was following his heart, but he was only following his zipper. He really didn't realize the ramifications of his poor decision making. His ex wife ended up better because she truly has a loving heart and had no guilty conscience. In essence she let him hang himself with his own rope. What a dunderhead.

Pelos clips que eu assisti, sempre tive a impressão de que ele tentava convencer a si próprio que a amava, como tinha feito uma escolha, seria muito embaraçoso na cidade pequena admitir o fracasso, se tornaria motivo de chacota. Não assisti o inicio do drama, portanto não consigo dizer se a esposa tinha sentimentos por ele, ou tinha se conformado com casamento arranjado e fazia o possivel para se ajustar e viver uma vida boa com ele. Pelos clips que eu vi, ela não parecia ter sentimentos por ele, e o via como um irmão. A esposa é de uma inteligência brilhante, sempre com decisões diplomáticas, sempre atingindo seus objetivos sem desagradar nenhum dos lados, tenho como exemplo quando ele pediu a custódia da filha, era claro pela expressão dela que jamais abriria mão da filha, mas com diplomacia não se comprometeu e sua reposta ainda o deixou feliz. Ambos ela e o noivo, terão uma familia feliz e estarão juntos e engajados na politica, cuidando do bem estar social.
