Glory be to the most high God Yahweh Elohim. I grew up having church like this. I'm glad to see our ol' time religion is still alive...but the elders who are keeping it alive won't be here forever. We can't let this part of our spiritual culture die with them. We have to keep this part of who we our alive for generations to come.

We see our grandmother, his wife Cora Ward Spearman, grave but his was not professional done. His name was just carve on the stone but my sister is looking into getting his headstone updated. My older siblings were pre-teen and I wasn't born yet when he passed away.

@@rashunjohnson3399 nah I’m from/ lived in Macon my whole life until I got in the army, and Ebenezer baptist church still did old hymns and prayers . I haven’t been to church in years since I’ve been in the Army . I went to my ol church with my mama back in 2016 and they still was singing hymns because there are still a lot of older people there. I didn’t like the churches where I’m at because like you said they are to contemporary.

I love it, Grandma 's singing but somebody in the background don't know the words. He's giving his best and if God is well pleased, my opinion doesn't matter. I just always loved to hear my elders sing. They sang with so much passion. When I was a child I would wonder what my mom was shouting about, now I know.
