These are the dudes! No violence! And they freakin' invented rap music / hiphop... and kept it real for real! Big respect! BIG respect... shall I say it once more... DEEP respect for these guys. As a kid I was amazed by hearing the lyrics: "Don't push me, cause I'm close to the edge, I'm trying not to lose my head..." Little did I know back then... now I know and that song keeps popping up on a daily basis... You guys totally rock!

When grand master said rock n roll plays big part in hip hop. I was surprised he didn't mention billy squier. Billy squier song the big beat basically laid the foundation for early hip hop
@grawakendream89803 жыл бұрын
well big beat didn't come out til way later but there was rock for sure. babe ruth the mexican culturally. aerosmith toys which was big on the streets long before run dmc used it to get famous. also babe ruth keep your distance. numerous rock songs
@bb-gc2tx3 жыл бұрын
@@grawakendream8980 yeah I remember dmc saying they thought name of the band was toys in the attic. Didn’t know that was album name and who Aerosmith was until they recorded with them. Toys in attic came out in 75 so you are right. But doesn’t diminish billy squier contributions with the big beat. He had a drummer named Bobby chouinard who was a monster on the drums laying down down some heavy beats

Sorry I couldn't help but notice all the smug white faces in the room. These guys belong there just as much as anyone else. When I was just a kid running the streets in Dallas in the late 70's and early 80's this was the soundtrack of the streets and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
@Lunatick6665 жыл бұрын
Could also be that all them white people are more into rock and roll since its that hall of fame. But I totaly agree with you they belong in any hall of fame for their fresh and new style of music. I as a white person (skin color seems more important in the world today then ever) I lived the whole rap scene when it was original and real. All them hippy hoppy new "artist" can go fuck themself tho. Whatever fucking color they are.
