Yes. And she also managed to somehow raise her own daughter well and not neglect her... I highly doubt that she did any of this on purpose. But can anyone explain why she's smiling in her mugshot and clearly hasn't shed a tear? Surely she didn't already forget she had just murdered yet another grandchild?? Either way, that's not the face you make when you're "completely devastated" as her lawyers claim.

@@ol7079 This is possible, that she has dementia. The parents should be charged, considering, the first child died in her care, then, they let their second child be alone again with her. And if it is confirmed, Grandma has dementia, she should not be charged. Giving Grandma the benefit of the doubt I'd say it's probably early onset dementia. We had a few incidents with both of my wife's grandparents and had to stop letting them care for the grandkids. Wasn't anything malicious on their part they were just getting sick. They've both since passed away from dementia. One of the saddest things I've ever seen next to cancer.

Sleep deprivation + last minute change of plans. It happened to me, and I constantly talk to my children. Thank GOD I remembered within about ten minutes, and baby was sleeping. But it was in the Walmart parking lot. Oh my God. From then on (this was a decade ago) I have put my bag in front on my children's legs in the back foot well, so I need to go to the back to get my bag. Parents aren't necessarily intentionally negligent, just under extreme exhaustion, and last minute changes to schedules don't get coded properly sometimes. I'm a grandma and I wouldn't ever allow any of these things to happen. How would a 2 year old get out of the house by himself? I have 2 great grandchildren and I told my granddaughter that I'm not physically able to babysit due to bad knees and shoulders. I'm afraid of falling or dropping them. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if that happened.

I’m a grandma of 1 year old twins and I never let them out of my site when I’m watching them. I am keenly aware of how quickly an accident can happen. I don’t watch tv, take phone calls or do ANYTHING that demands my attention. This grandma left the baby in the car in the first place then proceeds to practicing her piano?! Took a nap with an 18 month old in the house?!! Somethings really wrong here. She needs to be assessed by a Neurologists asap.

I think evil grandma knew what she was doing the whole time. Idk the motive. But it makes no sense that both of these were "accidents." Especially the case with Ezra makes no sense. 18 month old somehow unlocked the door, walked over to pond, and jumped in it and drowned.... while grandma conveniently slept? give me a break from the baloney!

This is a heartbreaking story for the parents. But ive always wondered after all the new tech innovations coming out, why someone still hasnt invented something that alerts parents when they’ve forgotten their child in the car. There’s been so many similar incidents of people leaving their kids in their cars

Did they do testing for dementia. First you fell asleep while looking after your grandson he wandered outside to the swimming pool and drowned. Then you forget your grandaughter in the hot car to die. This is very tragic for the whole family. I hope they all get some help to deal their losses.

It's likely she will eventually get a diagnosis of dementia or early onset Alzheimer's. Disowning her will do nothing, if this is all a result of cognitive decline. Very sad indeed.

@@kristinab1078 You just assume. If the daughter thought she was in early stages of dementia and she would have had an idea don’t you think she wouldn’t have given her ,her child. That’s the reason the daughter wants her charged. For all you know she could have also been a secret drunk and went indoors got drunk and fell asleep. It won’t get her children back but she needs to pay for her incompetence.

Grandma is silently suffering from senile or dementia. It’s weird that you would push criminal charges on your mother instead of you being alert of her mental health and not choosing her to babysit. The story feels odd and weird. Very painful loss.

The parents don’t seem very distraught. I would be in tears and unable to speak about the whole situation. Especially having to recount the whole thing. Please understand it’s just an opinion, who knows what really happened, but to put the 2nd child in the care again of the person who was in looking after their first child who also passed. Makes you wonder.

they were two tragic accidents. the mom used the grandma for free babysitting. she should be responsible too. for her to turn against her own mother, it is just wrong. the grandma must be so sad already. the daughter/mother took advantage of the grandma. she should stand by the grandma and cry together. it was truly tragic. she should not put all the blame on the grandmother. the daughter is ungrateful and heartless.
