This performance is only 2 months old. They are sharing a larger set with Lowriders and artists like Mack-10. I hope they blow up in popularity and royalties now that Metro Boomin has sampled them (bastardized as it may be) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jae7q6iAiJ6HbsU

I remember parking my white ass on the sand dunes in 1986 with my homies in an '84 Nissan Sentra drinking 40's of Old E and listening to this. Fond memories. We always found a way to hoop it up and find the tenders. This was our go to always, then NWA, Ice-T, Red Man ect. ect... Oregon coast , we would roll in from P-town 503. Don't forget about Sea-town funk! Sir-mix-alot!

Im a hige Rodney O & Joe Cooly fan as i play their jams almost everyday in my bad ass car's sound system since early 90s till present day and that hypeman is whack but since General Jeff passed away i guess Rodney O has to have some hypeman when performing! 😎 Anyways I too didn't know they performed on this day at the Great Performance show held every summer weekend above the Angel's Flight park as it looks it was horribly advertised to the public! Freakn' sad! I would've been right there front row wearing my Fila Fresh suit and original Kangol hat! WORD FRESH.... 😎

Same great song, same legends performing - but just seeing today's setting and the audience: you know the past is the past and gone and will never come back. Be happy that you were lucky to be there, having experienced it. The flavor, the nostalgia, the memories: all priceless ❤

Love and respect these WEST COAST LEGENDS if yall forgot these the original OGs who started beef with the East Coast with they album call F__K New York by calling out the radios stations and djs for not playing west coast artist but we always show them love and also calling LL and a coupke others out
@DeeJayBUNDY2 ай бұрын
the beef with LL was started with IceT. It lasted for years. The battle on the mic between LL and IceT ended in the 90s at the coliseum by IceT winning. LA and NY hip hop rivalry had been going on since the mid 80s. It was mostly elevated in the late 80s by Tim Dog with his single "F*ck Compton" and the Rodney O Joe Cooley you mentioned F*ck New York". Joe also pointed out the Tim Dog beef on a side project EP release one day (not including Rodney O) claiming that Tim Dog REALLY started the beef. Long live the group. They are LA pioneers.

Listen to his lyrics. He's not talking about oppss, killing, robbing, etc. He's just having fun with it. This song is still popular 25 years later. These new rappers will be forgotten after 1-2 years. The music today is too demonic and meaningless. Rap music used to be fun, now it ain't fun no more.
