To all musicians: Let's keep writing about change, about revolution, about what we think that is wrong. We have the power to be listened, to change minds, to move people.
@_._gyokan_._6 жыл бұрын
That's the idea man. That's why I decided to do music. "To change the world" and if it dont work at least I can say I tried and didn't accept the reality of all this animosity going on.
@grimmlokd4166 жыл бұрын
@@_._gyokan_._ isnt music a kind of art? Look I love when musicians sing about things they think are important but I dont think you can say music's purpose is to change the world. Im kinda tired, if Im writing bullshit here just tell me and I will explain later what I mean
@_._gyokan_._6 жыл бұрын
Grimmlokd Right, but art can change minds. Look at books, writing is an art also. Just making someone think, can make an impact. I guess its more about the long game with this kind of stuff. What else do we have. Politicians and corporations own everything else. Bands like Tool and Pink Floyd, that make people stop and think. Maybe not the ones who have matured and wont look at the world differently but the younger generations are still forming. And what do they have to form to? A whole industry of sociopaths and psychopaths making music, sending the "I dont care about nothing but money and sex" message. It devalues the human condition. With all the power nature gave us we just devolve right back to animals. I have ADD so I tend to sway from my initial point. But to sum it all up - music is a tool that you can reshape and repurpose. People listen to music daily and they listen to what artists say in their music. Can it change the world? Probably, but not in an instant, it CAN plant the seeds of change though.
@grimmlokd4166 жыл бұрын
dude youre whole comment is unnessecary. The first sentense is all you had to tell me. I know everything else, still I dont think its music's purpose the change minds or whatever and since you think the same... why are you trying to explain me?
@_._gyokan_._6 жыл бұрын
Grimmlokd I think music can be repurposed to a vision any artist has, and my vision is to make people stop and think. That's all really.

@@lcthiaa yeah im not sure what age hotrod is but schooling in a crisis of mass shootings can be very difficult, friends of mine knew kids from parkland and its honestly heart breaking. During my highschool years we probably had two or three gun threats, probable or not- it makes focusing on work a nightmare. Saying that its not ok for kids that age to talk about the mass shootings is laughable considering they're being sent to school with bullet proof backpacks. But god forbid they talk about it.

Robert As a fellow Robert you are fucking brain dead. Do you know how easy it would be to obtain weapons if guns were banned? Even more shootings would happen because fucked up people will know no one can fight back. The other guy was right, you are just not thinking about the better choices. Also school already feels like a prison. I would rather my current school do a search on everyone everyday than a few people every other day. You are blaming this on guns and not the fucked up people. Please don't be the problem, be the person who helps prevents the problem from happening....
@roberty9456 жыл бұрын
i couldn't give less shits that you are called Robert if you arnt brain dead you would relies if america didn't have that much of guns mass shootings wouldn't be as much of a problem it sounds like more of a trend now to shoot up a school. and where the fuck is a 17/18 year old gonna get the money to buy a black market gun not much places. wise the fuck up the person and the gun are = to blame
@themalevolentmechanic6 жыл бұрын
Robert I agree with you that kids would have a difficult time obtaining black market guns, and therefore school shootings would be less of an issue. But then again, they could use bombs. I don't think banning guns is the right decision, as then the only ones who would have them are criminals who plan to kill, and then there would be no one to fight back and stop them, as the police can't just teleport to the location. Many crimes are stopped by guns, more than the number of innocent people killed in the US. Arming teachers wouldn't work, as if they hear gun shots, they'd fire at where they come from and possibly hurt more kids, or one could lose it and kill more. In my opinion, the best thing to do is have a search before they even are allowed to enter the school building, and have a lot of search lines to prevent too many from being in one location and therefore possible victims of a mass shooting. That and educate gun owners better on how to safely store their gun in their home so that their children can't get to it. Again, this is just my opinion on what is best, I don't think banning guns would solve the problem. Plus, getting guns from all those who legally own them would take a long time, result in casualties, and cost the government a ton of money to compensate.

Rest In peace to the 17 children that inspired this song. On February 14, 2018, a school shooting took place at Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17 witch led to the inspiration of this song, and they are singing this at " The March For Our Lives " Yes, Feb. 14, Valentines Day. It really was a tragedy, and only 13 or 14 children have been identified. I belive that the signs they are holding have pictures and names of the children that were killed.

great show, Ellen this is fantastic, thank you. This is probably my favorite grandson live performance. I have been stuck in the middle going back and forth on what I believe in when it comes to gun control. The way I look at it is that nobody has an answer and removing guns does not show an improvement of safety, and even worse to do this we would need to either change an amendment or completely ignore its importance. I agree that the amendment was made for a time that is no longer what the U.S. is today, but changing an amendment could be a pandora's box of problems. it opens the possibility that any amendment may be changed. I hope someone finds an answer that will actually work, but maybe the problem has so many layers and this wicked issue is too complex to solve with removing or adding things. maybe the problem is within the very fabric of society and to fix something like this it would mean changing the people and culture within the society and not just the laws that they are meant to follow.
