GranFondo Vancouver - Bucket List Ride, Cycling the Sea to Sky Highway

This is a bucket list ride. The Sea to Sky highway from Vancouver to Whistler is a beautiful road that hugs the coastline with stunning views of the fjords of Howe Sound and snow-covered mountains at the same time.
It's closed to cars and open to cyclists for one day of the year, for the RBC GranFondo Whistler which is what makes it a bucket list event for me and in 2019 I got to check it off!
My brother-in-law who normally mountain bikes agreed to sign up and ride with us if we agreed to go mountain biking when we reached Whistler. This video is part one, of the GranFondo ride. Watch to see how a mountain bike rider gets on when he rides a granfondo!
We had bikes arranged locally for the RBC GranFondo Whistler but they fell through, leaving us with a logistic nightmare, but at the last minute Brodie (the maker of the bikes Nathan and I bought to ride across Canada) came through with bikes for us and we had some fun bikes to ride, but not your usual road bikes. For this ride we would be riding adventure bikes, our larger tires raised some eyebrows but they were super supple!
