I’m late to see this but what a lovely experience you shared with us and it’s great to hear how appreciative you are of the work I know a lot of us from the US complain about the work I wish they realized it’s really not a lot of people have it much worse It’s getting hard to find American help here on our farm but let me tell you I work 14 hour days and I’ve never once came home sore and aching from the labor I can’t say it’s bad at all the hours are a bit heafty and leave you with little free time but it’s not what everyone’s making it out to be around here I wish everyone would realize the people that dream of the opportunity

Spent 4 years in Texas for school at Baylor and it quickly became home. One of my favorite things was driving through these tailgate towns on my way to wherever I was going that weekend for a bike race, a retreat, an interview, a getaway, anything like that. Seeing state championships painted on water towers was the coolest thing. Home is where the heart is, and I can’t wait to be back home in Texas again one day.

I live in a town called Eatonville WA and it's like 2-3 hours from seattle, we just got our first stoplight a couple of years ago. My town is becoming very populated though and it's sad. It's used to be that every single friday night the whole entire town would show up to the football games but we never went to state and we dont that have whole small town look anymore. I'm afraid my small town is gonna be like seattle soon. We only have 3 churchs, one grocery store, a middle school, high school, and an elementary school, the Sears that was here moved out because they didnt have enough business. So please cherish those tailgate towns when you can because they are amazing.

What a great song. In the late 1950s and and during the 1960s and part of the 1970s, the 🇨🇱 Texas 🇨🇱 town l grew up in was exactly like what Mr. Smith is describing here. We never won any state championships (lol), but we darn sure had them grandstands full. The highschool rodeo grandstands were full as well. Sadly, that little farming town is no more..... but I definitely have my memories. 🇺🇲🙏🇺🇲
