After a three-hour drive from Brisbane, we arrive in the small southern border town of Wallangarra in Granite Belt country. We learn all about the Railway Station history at their fascinating free museum within the station buildings. We have a cuppa at the café in the old railway dining rooms.
Next, we go for a walk in Girraween National park to check out the granite scenery and walk amongst the wildflowers. Then off to Stanthorpe to check-in to our bush cabin for the night at Granite Belt Retreat & Brewery.....

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
It turns out, our timing wasn't great - what with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global travel and economic turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Australia and sharing everything our beautiful country has to offer!
We invite you to follow us as we make regular trips and share our experiences with you 😊
Our videos are posted weekly 😊 (we aim for Thursdays).

What a beautiful area in Queensland. This is the first time seeing this video around the time we found you on KZbin. Between the Railway Station and the Granite Scenery. It brings us back to the States where our Western States operated on a similar Railway. Thank you, Beth and Paul, for taking us back in time. Sending you lots of love. 😍😍😍 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Our son visited Australia a few years ago. As a rail buff, he would have been quite interested in Wallangarra Railway Station. The rocks reminded us of our Canadian Shield. A rocky area, easily accessible a couple of hours North of Toronto. It covers about 1/2 of Canada, but is most visible where glaciers scoured away much of the soil ( a bit before my time ;)

Hi @vintageracer25 🤗 Travelling through the Rockies by train has always been high on our list of things to do. Canada looks very scenic and has so much natural beauty ❤️

@@BethandPaultravel Yes. Our son has traveled by train from Toronto to Vancouver... which of course includes The Rockies. He wants to take the train to the East Coast at some point... so he can say he has crossed Canada by rail. David

Wow David, we would love that. We really enjoy travelling by train. We have been lucky enough to travel all over Europe on trains and it’s great fun, very relaxing and often cheaper than driving.

Hi Beth & Paul, my partner and I had a wonderful time in Stanthorpe ! we stayed at the Granite Belt Brewery and it was the best ! we also went to Wallangarra (they didn't have vanilla slice unfortunately) and Girraween National Park. Your videos equipped us with so much knowledge before we went. Thank you both so much :)

Woah, I have been doing my family ancestry and found out my family from the 1800s were from this area in a small town, I think it is called Boomi. I was born in UK but my Dad is Australian from Sarina, Queensland. I love your videos so much because I am learning about where my family is from :D and you guys present your videos so beautifully

Hi @Pingu Pinga 🤗 we had to look up Boomi because we hadn’t heard of it.....but it does exist in outback west Queensland! We have never been that far west...but who knows? Maybe one day? It’s great that you’re tracking your family ancestry and we’re really happy you’re enjoying our videos 😊😊😊
