Granite, Silestone, Quartz, Quartzite, Limestone, Corian, Marble Slab, etc ... Which is the best?

Granite has been the most popular choice for countertops for many years now but there are some other surfaces you might want to consider. Most surfaces have their plusses and minuses from durability to beauty to repairs. So I asked Gary Rodenbaugh of the iconic Rodenbaugh store on Main Street in Allen to give my his opinion. Quartz sure looks like a strong contender for the surface we'll use when we update our granite countertops.
