Love this Cluster Stitch and the Hexagon Shape for Granny Squares…….you are a great teacher and so easy to follow…..tks for this pattern….for newbies, I like to put a stitch marker in the top of the chain-2 to know where I make that slip stitch at the end of the row…..and with many other patterns a lot of instructors don’t show you or tell you where that “1st” stitch is….(at the beginning of a row), bc sometimes it’s right under the Chain two or three and sometimes it’s the “next stitch”…….and if you don’t get it right, your stitch count is off……well, ty for a wonderful pattern…..😊

Hi Jada I've been making hexagon granny squares for what feels like a lifetime! I think I have enough to make a blanket. Do you have a tutorial for sewing hexagon granny squares into a blanket?
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi Elaine, you can join hexagons using any method you like (as you would for squares: sewing, stitching etc) and there are 2 ways you can join them: make a rectangle or make a larger hexagon. We haven't done a specific video a hex blanket, but we do have a little info at the beginning of this video on a rectangular format: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4XYiXd6nJt2btU Also, if you want straight sides on your rectangle blanket, we now have a video on how to make half hexagons here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXi3oomLrdN6gbM

Hi Stephanie! I've been working on that, it's a little tricky to get the tension right, but it's very similar in concept to the regular half hexagon. If you haven't seen that video, you might find it helps...here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXi3oomLrdN6gbM

Would a "magic" or cinch circle in the center affect how the hexagon lays?
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi! Definitely try it. You might not want to cinch it "all" the way, because the 6 clusters use up a lot of real estate, but it would definitely make for a smaller middle hole.

Would a magic circle work for the center? I don't like the large hole in the middle. 🤔
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi Jessica, yes, but you might not be able to pull it super tight because 6 clusters is a lot of crochet in a small area 😊
@doje2810 Жыл бұрын
Would this distort if I made a large square blanket sized.
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi! Not as readily as a regular granny square or regular granny shell hexagon, just because the clusters are tighter 😊

Hello, I am making these, I am using size 4 yarn with a 5mm hook, they are measuring 5 inches across, is that right? Many thanks
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah, those are a little smaller than mine, but that's totally ok in the case of a project like this 😊 Yarn, hooks and personal tension can vary quite a bit!
@kelleyjogirl Жыл бұрын
Would it curl less with an extra chain between clusters?
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi Kelley, if your stitching is tight, you might want to try a larger hook before you add in the extra chains, and if that still isn't loose enough, then try the extra chains, just be sure not to confuse them with corners 😊

@JaydaInStitches21 күн бұрын
Hi! Make sure you're bringing the opposite points together. If it seems tight or really ripply, that's ok, it will flatten properly when it's stitched into an "L" 😊

In the beginning, round one, you say to do double crochet but proceed to do half-double crochet. So confusing.
@JaydaInStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi Bridget, there is no half double crochet in this pattern: we start with a ch-2 that counts as part of the dc3tog cluster to begin the row, then we start a DC, work the first half, start a second DC work the first half of that and that leaves us with 3 loops on our hook, then we yarn over and pull back through those 3 loops. That's how we get that first cluster: the ch-2, plus the 2 half-worked double crochet stitches together = a single stitch or cluster. I hope that helps! 😊 Thank you for watching! 🍂
