I really enjoy your interviews and talks with people. One of the things that really stand out to me is that you ask a question and allow people to not only respond to the question but allow their own words and thoughts to carry the conversation. You don't have a need to hurry them along. Your kind and gentle and interested in all they have to say and it shows. Of course anytime we get to chat with Granny is a treasure ❤️. God bless!

Tipper the name of the song that's playing on your mom's little jewelry box is My Melody of Love. I recognized it but I looked it up just to make sure. It breaks my heart to see your mom missing the man she loved so much. It's a Testament to your parents on what true love looks like. I wish all marriages were as great as theirs was. We are so blessed to still have our moms.

ah, the Christmas Poke. i make em up for our Church and for the people where i work my job. i always draw animals on em, as cute as i can. there was an old couple from Serbia that had a gallery in the building. they were very sweet. he hardly spoke any English, but she had lived in Chicago for several years before he come over. i give them one of the pokes. well, he opened it up and grinned and called his wife over. she looked in and seen the two oranges and the stick candy. her face took on the sweetest look. he said: "is same in Serbia!" they're gone now, but i still smile when i think of em.

I love her Bible! What a sweet treasure! I have an old Bible that belonged to my mama. In Mississippi, many years ago, the funeral home in our area would always give a large Bible (I called it a coffee table Bible) to families who had lost a loved one. My mama got one when her dad passed away. He died many years before I was born. This Bible was filled with all kinds of beautiful pictures, and as a young child, I loved looking at that Bible, which I did every day. When I was about 4 or 5 years old, I began attending a little church down the road from our house with my older sister. One day, my Sunday school teacher asked us to bring our favorite Bible with us to church. I begged my mama to let me take that big Bible with me to church, and I was so mad when she wouldn't let me. (The Bible was about as heavy as I was at the time!) Fast forward many years later, I went to seminary in Kentucky where I learned all about those pictures I saw in that Bible, and I appreciate them more now than I ever imagined I could. I still have that Bible. It is worn and tattered now, mainly due to me flipping through those pages again and again over the years. I love that Bible to this day, and I am so proud to have it. ❤

Hi Tipper I always say just sit an hour if you can at a Seniors side and you will have stories that will make you so full of joy to know how life was so different when she was a child. It is one of the best lessons anyone can ever have. Tipper is Granny your Mother? Seems there is a resemblance of sorts. Enjoyed this video so well. Thank you Granny for sharing. I remember getting gold stars and red stars and blue stars at school many times good memories. Made you feel really special. Wow 24 when Granny got married, I'd say that was unusual as I would gather that most people back then got married when they were 12 and 13 years old Or I could be wrong about that. My Dad was Baptist and my Mom converted him to the Church of England. So many lovely memories that will live on for a very long time. Thank you Tipper for sharing your interview with Granny.

Holiday/Christmas greetings to your beautiful family and subscribers, all the way from New York City, on this [lovely] rainy winter's day. I would like to thank you for sharing so many loving, creative and special moments, in and out of the kitchen. All are filled with such warmth and a whole lot of inspiration. I also want to mention that your precious mother, "Granny" is a joy to listen to. I loved each and every walk down memory lane as she shared those treasured gifts from past years. As for the magnificent music box her beloved husband gave her, I am almost positive the tune it plays is called "Melody Of Love". The song was recorded by many vocalists, but Bobby Vinton made it a hit back in the 70's. Please let her know how much I valued listening to her, and that I hope she will make future appearances here on your channel. G-d bless all of you for a healthy, loving, peaceful and Merry Christmas/New Year. MELODY OF LOVE: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpfRc6uYed9qbbc

Your Sweet Mama said that y'all are blessed to live in your part of the country. I've visited that area many times and I must agree that you are indeed lucky to live in those beautiful, serene, majestic mountains. I never want leave when I visit. We ate Sunday lunch in Murphy on our way to Maggie Valley and Gatlinburg a couple of years ago. I remember thinking how nice it would be to call a mountain town home. I enjoyed watching y'all reminisce as I was eating my supper of purple hull peas, sour kraut and smoked sausage and cornbread and sweet tea. I may not live in the mountains but I'm southern and proud of it. Thanks again Tipper and Granny.

Tipper, your mom is just so precious. She is truly a treasure! I still collect dolls. I’ve seen some that look like real little girls and cost in the thousands of dollars. I had a little bride doll that I won in Atlantic City when I was a little girl, just by putting a token on my birthday date. I had her for years, until she fell apart. I had a special shelf that I had to keep all of my “shelf dolls” on…the special dolls I wasn’t aloud to play with. Thank you for sharing your mom with us again. It’s such a treat whenever she visits with us!
