Right?! I feel it especially because I'm an Orlando native. I remember back in the early 2000's in middle school everyone had a #1 Tracy McGrady Orlando Magic jersey. I really feel for him because he wanted to be here because he grew up a little over an hour from here. T-Mac just had an unfortunate twist of fate, smh.

Imagine it though. If Duncan did sign with the Magic, Grant may not have been injured because the plays would have been different, Duncan would have gotten the ball at times and it would have changed whole game. One little thing derailed a franchise. Orlando was one of my favorite teams back then. I grew up a Charlotte Hornets fan but when they moved I hated them. And I could never get behind the Bobcats. So Orlando was probably my favorite then. Use to love seeing the penny and Shaq connection there too. So much history. Also I always wonder with if TMac stayed with the Raptors. They had Billups, Carter, McGrady. If Billups would havd came into his own the same way, and Carter and T Mac could be like a one two punch like LeBron and Wade were, they could have been a multiple time finals team.

A lot of great players in NBA history just lucked out in a lot of ways with the teams they were drafted or traded to, and those teams' ability to recruit great players to surround them. That's the reason why a lot of top 10 all time lists consist of mostly Lakers and Celtics players. T Mac could have had multiple rings and been regarded a top 5 all time player if he had just a little more luck in situations like this. Can't forget his bad luck with his health too. People forget how incredibly amazing he was in his prime. He's so hurt in this video.

Exactly situations really is what define your career. Especially if you’re drafted to the expansion teams. No doubt Tracy Mcgrady was a Tier 1 basketballer in his time like KG, Duncan, Kobe, iverson, Shaq, Dirk. 2 scoring titles in Orlando? He would be averaging 37 right now easy because he has the ability to pull up off the dribble 3’s.
@Lexyboogie7 жыл бұрын
Every Monday Yup, that's why I never had a problem with LeBron leaving Cleveland in 2010. As a player, you gotta take control of your own destiny if your organization isn't putting you in good situations. This business of staying loyal to a team just because they drafted you is nonsense.

Darryl Shaw That's interesting you say that because I feel like McGrady was KD before KD. And those 2 would have been great to see what could have been if injuries didn't derail both of their careers. To make it even worse they could have been paired with a young Tim Duncan so they wouldn't have had to exert so much energy which in the end caused their injuries. I don't care what anyone says but T-Mac is still one of my favorite players ever.
@jackschwartz17566 жыл бұрын
Hill was the player with the most upside after Jordan retired the second time in 98. He was supposed to take over the league, he was like a better version of Ben Simmons when fully healthy. (Ben could prove me wrong if he continues developing the right way) but Hill woulda been a monster if not for the injuries. He still had a decent career however.

Yes, they had the fame and made a lot of money back in their day and probably still now but it's all about living life to your potential, and you wonder what sort of effect injuries and not winning a championship had on these two. It's corny to say, but if you can't be a winner without a championship, you'll never be a winner even with one (or several) - and these two are winners.

If we got Duncan, Hill and Mcgrady vs Shaq and Kobe in the Finals would have been a hell of a Finals match up.

Wow, with Tim Duncan on the team, the magic would ha e easily won two maybe even three championships, and tmac would have been finals MVP at least two or three times!! This is a hell of a birthday gift!!

Grant Hill - Ben Wallace felt like a very lopsided trade at the time, and is still a lopsided trade for the opposite reason.

I feel bad for T-Mac and Grant Hill. They could have had Tim Duncan.

I’ll take it one step further: hindsight is 20/20, but hardly anyone remembers who Orlando traded (sign and trade) to get Grant Hill: Chucky Atkins...and BEN WALLACE. If there was some way to keep Wallace and pair him with Duncan, Hill and McGrady? My god.

@1:09 T-mac's face says it all: The Magic Organization was terrible, and McGrady took out his frustrations out on that court every single time

If Duncan signs….the East is locked up for at least 4 years. Grant doesnt have to rush back and can the a year instead of 4 to actually get his ankle right.

If I'm the owner and i find out Doc did this after finish begging Duncan over the phone (pause) I'm firing Doc Rivers. I'll coach that damn lineup to a chip by my damn self. This is a 24 year old Tim Duncan we talkin bout. I'm like bruh "you and yo family will have your own plane".

What’s messed up for TMac is he almost rang with Timmy in San Antonio but they end up suffering their only finals series loss in heartbreaking fashion.
