Grant Lee played in Toronto for the first time in Toronto for many years (just before the pandemic); I believe he said it had been 17 years. To say he was amazing doesn't do the evening justice. From the moment I looked towards my wife and saw Grant Lee standing beside us to watch the opening act, to the moment he invited us to come talk to him and get "sweaty hugs"on the floor after the show, it was clear that this man wasn't like anyone I'd seen before. It seems criminal that his music isn't well known. He is a genius.

Agreed. Most musicians are done within a few years and don't do much of interest in their remaining decades. Grant Lee is the exception to that rule. He's not rehashing his past catalogue, he's simply writing amazing tunes.
