I dont think he was using mods like that. If you raise the difficulty, you'll get better loot,you can also raise the resources you get from things .also for the loot, it depends on the color, if you take white drops then its normal you get trash, if you take red tho,you shouldnt be getting cloth armour or trash. Most of them do it without mods, the game was made without mods, therefore there probably are people who made with no mods. If not, then the game is impossible to play if you need mods to beat it.

Iron is a very magnetic material.
