GRANULAR DARK AMBIENT // MicroFreak

I'm still not over the granular update for the MicroFreak. As soon as I've uploaded my own samples, it became a really fun experiment of how many different contexts I can put it in.
The granular engine isn't pushed too far in this one. I didn't want the sound to break up too much, but still wanted to keep the little variations from different starting points and scanning a small area, with moderate amount of chaos introduced. It breathes life into the pad very subtly, yet noticably.
The pad I'm using as a basis for this jam, comes from the 32 Sounds For Ambient sample pack I've compiled. It's available on my Patreon page, in the shop section. :)

With this particular video, I remember using my own sample on the MicroFreak, running through Valhalla Shimmer reverb. Some modulation on various parameters to give it movement, very simple two chord progression. The biggest challenge is trying to not add too much, and leave enough space for notes and reverbs to breathe. :)

Thank you! The effects are Valhalla Shimmer and Valhalla Supermassive plugins, as well as some corrective EQ and slight compression to balance out the quiet and louder sections. The sample I've used for this jam was quite processed as well, before going into the MicroFreak.
