Guys guys! PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE! Harsha who is *no more* is not the one talking in the video. Harsha was mostly working on the website part and also a genius in programming. The one who made most of the videos in Animesh Nayan who is still alive and working for Google apparently. Animesh is probably busy with his day job, he is a father now and may be isn't finding time to make new videos. I still wish he completes the series. Long live Animesh! You are like a programming god for us.

One more thing: Facebook post about Harsha's death is from June 2014; this video was published in February 2015. You guys learn how to use pointers but can't grasp a concept of chronology? That doesn't compile.
I'm prepping for an interview with Amazon for a software engineer role and this channel's videos are exactly what I needed to review. This definitely makes up for all the crazy CS theory I've forgotten since college. Thank you!

Great video. Feedback here: There is an issue with the weighted graph adjacency matrix - its not symmetric across the diagonal for the last vertex (H). The (7,3) value is shown as 6 whereas it should be 11. Similarly (7,4) (7,5) and (7,6) are shown as 11 (instead of 9), 9 (instead of 4) and 4 (instead of 6) respectively

There seems to be some confusion about what "Space" means in space complexity as you give an example of persistent disk storage. When we speak of space complexity it's not in terms of "disk storage" but "memory" - and to those yet uninitiated this can lead to big confusion going forward. It is true that personal computers can easily have ~ 2 TB of storage, but when you start talking about 2 TB of memory (RAM) - that's where the problem lies.
@serenestrolls-d7b8 жыл бұрын
he is talking about storing the information permanently. thats why he talked about hard disk. when u will process that data. only that time it will be copied into memory. good servers these days can have 256GB or 512GB of ram.

at 8:11 he talks about using a Hash table for the vertex list so you wouldn't have to linearly scan it to find an index given a vertex string name. I understand that you'd use Name-Index as Key-Value pairs: So, you could simply enter 'F' and it would return 5. My question is this: Once you obtain index 5 and consult the adjacency matrix at index 5 you find that index 5 is connected to 1 ('B') and 7 ('H'). But to find out that 1 = 'B' and 7 = 'H' wouldn't that be inefficient since you would have to scan your hash map using the values (i.e. the indeces) rather than keys (i.e. string names) ??
@devanarayanj66893 жыл бұрын
Why can't we use the keys(string names) of the B and the H to look for the indices in the hashmap? The search query will probably list their names as such wouldn't it?
