You didnt mention the coolest part about these tuners... one turn is the same amount of pitch change for each string (which is why they are geared different)... makes changing tunings super fast and easy!

Yay! Now my drop G tuning will be accurate.

Intonation - is the REAL Culprit. When you try to intonate you sometimes see that you can't HIT the pitch exactly with regular tuners. took me 2 hrs to intonate new bridge instead of 15 MINUTES. Stretching strings and retune, retune. These tuners are DESIGNED to be PRECISE. Getting Intonation right the first time.Thanks Graph Tech!

Those Knaggs guitars are very cool! I prefer locking tuners more for the sake of quicker re-stringing anymore.
@DaleBoyle5 жыл бұрын
Yes, cool guitars! Graphtech make great products, and they have locking and non-locking versions of the ratio tuners...6 in-line or 3 X 3. However, for some Fender vintage style plate tuners, the plates don't fit and new holes have to be drilled.

Hey guys , this is a followup to my previous comment. I got the Ratio Tuners in today. I installed them on my '69 SG along with a set of the NYXL strings. Humma Humma bang bang! Sustain is better and you can get any tone out of the strings you want. I was using ThroBak strings before and my nearly 50 year old tuning machines. Thanks RJ. By the way , this is my first ever mod to one of my guitars.

Thanks RJ, I have a set in waiting to replace the G-Force on my 2015, Les Paul Less +, just haven’t had the heart to pull the trigger on the change, but I expect these to be the right choice when I do.
@bysykler4959 Жыл бұрын
I've got the ratio tuners on my Telecaster. 10/10 performance. However, Im hesitant to install these on my Les Paul because after using the required mounting plate, the post height is reduced, which increases the string angle over the nut.

Great tuners. Have a set on a Edwards Les Paul. Really like the stability.

You're making some great videos man. So, yeah I bought that Les Paul Tribute. You guys can jeer if you wanna. I get it. But for 900 bucks with the Gibson hard case that thing is badass. I'm getting ready to do a recording project and that guitar became the front and center axe. It will probably carry most rhythms but a few solos too. Why? Because it CAN. 2018 Les Paul Tribute is a great guitar. I love it. I play it. Get over it. : )

Good demonstration. I may try these on my ‘69 Gibson SG. The tuners are feeling weird. Some are very easy to turn and some feel too tight.

Precision tuners for the win!
@martinheath59475 жыл бұрын
Kinda cool. Let us know if raising and lowering the pitch on each string now requires the exact same amount of rotation on every tuner. Could be handy for rapid open D and other tunings once you get used to them.

Hi RJ It's been three weeks since the install of the Ratio Tuners on the Knagg do you have a comment on how they are performing on the guitar ?
@DaleBoyle5 жыл бұрын
Nice video RJ! After having these installed, what do you think of the "ratio" concept? Have you noticed more consistently (across the 6 keys) in the amount you need to turn the keys to change/reach pitch?

Cool Video. Do you think upgrading the nut along with these would be a good idea? As long as the guitars stock one is cheap of course. Be interested to see what you think after gigging with them .
@RJRonquillo5 жыл бұрын
If the nut is obviously bad (poor material, not cut well, catching when tuning), then yes the nut should be replaced.
@noahtysonhighlonesome81175 жыл бұрын
Awesome, man! Been looking at those. Usually upgrade, with the hip shot, locking tuners. But, I'd like to try these. Also, see you got the stew mac screwdriver set. What you think about that? I do alot of guitar work, and been looking at that set. Worth the buy? Annnnd, I love your videos! Your def top 5 favorites on youtube!

How is the post wobble? I'm considering these to replace the Grovers I have on my Strat. I was considering Gotoh 510's specifically because they say there is zero wobble. The Grovers are God awful, and one of them just broke. These look very interesting, but please tell me about the wobble. Thanks.

I have locking tuners on all of my guitars. It’s so bad I would have to watch a tutorial on how to restring a guitar with regular tuners because I’m so used to the ease of locking tuners. Haha
