I'm fluent in spanish and I can understand everything that mf is saying to the family he purposely crashed into. He was screaming that he did it because they just flipped him up, the girl was yelling at him "look what you've done" and he replies "what I've done? Is your family dead? Shut the hell up", he also tells the police " we are the ones who run this" repeatedly. So yes, dont defend this criminal, he's not worthy of it. The TRASH is where it belongs!

I speak spanish and live in Latin America. That kind of guy, is the guy that grew up around crime, maybe a criminal himself and probably killed or had no trouble of killing someone during a robbery or a fight. Police in this case did everyone, society and this family, a huge favor. By the tone of his voice and how he explained that the other driver gave him the finger, this type of person feels entitled to killed anyone just by getting offended. I just hope that woman´s kids are able to heal and grow up better than they would´ve around their father.

Just for anyone with doubts about how the events transpired, I speak spanish: the guy says "Aqui mandamos nosotros" that translates to "We rule in here". Add his deameanor, prepotent, entitled and violent, and his explanation in spanish about how the people in the other car was flipping him off so he ran them off the road, you can gather that he was a very very dangerous person. Well, he was tased twice and still got up and swinging, so no explanation needed really about how dangerous he was.

I would seriously judge anyone that finds a reason to defend this guy. Officers may be trained to handle situations with danger, but they are human at the end of the day. Everyone wants to come back home to their families at the end of their shift. Your right to life only extends as far as another person's begins. No one has more right to life than others, thus making the neutralization of immediate threats of this right a necessity. It is sad the family had to witness this, but the escalation of the situation was not a result of the officers' actions.

At some point he blames the other driver by saying “you flipped me off” This individual has an ego problem. If you have a kid in your vehicle specially your child IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Just exit the highway and go your way. He also tried to stab innocent individuals, in this case the police officers MULTIPLE TIMES. Complete disregard for human life. If he was capable of all of this, do you believe he was a good father behind the scenes? Putting his kid’s life at risk? Trying to kill innocents due to his mistakes?

I always conceal carry and I guess it gives me a little bit of comfort but I never want to have to use it especially in front of her. Some times it’s good for a kid to see their parent swallow their ego instead of showing their pride. Teaches them a valuable less I think.

I'm pretty sure he's so used to being around women and children, family in general who would not for various reasons fight back, that he literally forgot who he was. And what the world was. That was bizarre. I don't think he had a death wish because he didn't even have time to consider anything. He didn't walk out onto a balcony, he was pulled out of his mangled car on the way to the liquor store. Or wherever, knife shop? Really strange. He took the time to nod his head in disagreement too, dude had no plan, and very unclear motives other than angry and used to getting his way. I'm not 100 percent sure about the last couple shots that came when he tried to stand up. That was just as likely instinctively as it was to cause more harm. And there being kids and people in the line of the fire didn't help. But overall pretty good job. Probably should have been separating them like they're trained, but it was a chaotic and confusing scene and no one is perfect.

My wife and I have lived in Raleigh for nearly 35 years. We raised 4 boys here - and, they weren’t angels to put it nicely. I know that the RPD officers are as nice as they come. They care about us and our city. The way this incident was covered and reported was shameful and abhorrent. The video speaks for itself. On behalf of MOST of us, I thank these officers for everything they do despite the criticism. They are phenomenal and we’re so fortunate to have them protecting us!!!!!

This is a perfect example to ALL emergency responders how quickly a "routine" call can go very bad very quickly. Never, ever let your guard down. Outstanding work by law enforcement in securing a dangerous situation with no injury to bystanders or other responders.

That man had his right to bear arms and he was not threatening anyone with the weapon. Until they start attack him with him start to try to defend himself. I find it odd you can walk around with meter long gun. Why you can't walk around with a 1in knife. I found a guy who is considered such a great threat. Seem to have a lot of people including the cops within three at the most five feet of him. Well within getting stabbed today Range. Meaning I can stab you by the time you shoot me.

Most of it I agree, however, as a female, 5'6" and had had similar situation, never have i fired my gun. It brakes my heart seeing so many officers yet they seem to forget how to physically restrain someone. If I CAN DO IT, so they can and better given they are not short!! Oh and I'm not part of PD. 3:00 wife says “look what you’ve done” im a fellow Salvadoran lets not make this something it’s not. This man is 110% at fault and because of some stupid road rage incident He put his family’s life in major risk, severely hurting his OWN sons. He then pulled out a knife and charged an officer? Man was given many chances and this is such an infuriating video. Even if he admitted his fault, he would’ve still been alive and his family wouldn’t be suffering

Thats the saddest thing , he almost killed them driving drunk , then he becomes unmanageable around his family and EMS , and a live motorway, I could have imagined him running out onto the motorway and causing a pile up and killing people. As much as I don't like police , especially British police at the moment , they are human as well , it must be hard to take the option to shoot knowing his family are watching. Poor kids , they will never unsee it , but if they accept why it happened it make get easier as they grow up. Shame there is no update

Unfortunately the son will have to live with the fact that he killed his father inadvertently. At the beginning of the video the father explains in spanish that his son was flipping him off with a middle finger and trying to anger him on purpose... In retaliation the father crashed the car into an oncoming car. The whole incident started by an argument from the son.
