Math requires knowledge of fundamentals to advance. Good on anyone who is spending extracurricular time to reinforce concepts. By that same token, you should not be too worried when you struggle with a new concept. It only means you need to practice it and its precursors!

Substitute f(x) with a y coordinate point, and all the x values with the same point of where the y value is. So if I were to find a, I'd have to find a specific point on graph, and find those two x and y values and just Substitute them

I really appreciate your teaching sir it helped me a lot. but i just have a little confusion about graph's reflections..? if its multiplied by -1 out side of parenthesis. it reflects the graph vertically and horizontally if its multiplied inside of parenthesis. but -f(x)= -y and f(-x) is still equal to -y sir aren't they both reflecting vertically...? thanks for the video though.it was helpful.

everything you stated is correct and your last point the function you describe f(x)=x the vertical and horizontal reflections are the same. This is also true for any odd function such as f(x)=1/x or f(x)=sin(x)
