You can disregard my previous comment as I entered it before you gave your detailed explanation of your guitar customizations... Awesome, dude! You're like Tom Shultz of Boston who was a top notch engineer and cusomized his famous Boston Sound with his own guitar products he engineered, etc. Way to go, dude! Thanks! :)

I have installed the acoustiphonic on two of my guitars. In one of them, with EMG active pickups, the acoustiphonic sounds amazing. In the another with dimarzio passive pickups I have ground sound problems and the selector switch does not work properly because I can hear my magnetic sound on the PA system...do you have some idea with this problem??

When you play the acoustic sound there is a very low frequency sound also. (4:10) Is that the way it always is? That would be a deal breaker for me.

How do you get your acoustiphonic to sound like an actual acoustic?? I have the excact same system and it doesn't sound as good as this. Do I need to get a pedal to model it?

The hexpander would be really cool for covering (or making) any sort of Dream Theater type Guitar/Keyboard unison runs, at least until you needed the harmony parts.

@rogerfelez7478
@rogerfelez7478 7 жыл бұрын
Tom Kowalski the Axon has a better pich detection technology called Neural Net, there's almost no latency but you have to adjust the pickup settings very carefully to avoid ghost notes

@polaris20

Crosstalk between saddles, which causes mistriggers and ghost notes, making it not great for MIDI triggering. I just got the Fishman Triple Play, and it slays ANY pitch to MIDI converter yet. There's just no need for the Hexpander stuff anymore. I still have Ghost on my RG, but I just use it for the acoustic stuff, which it's good with.

Not the MIDI Hexpander. You've got to buy the saddles for $90-$110, then you need the Hexpander, which is another couple hundred. Then you have to find someone to install it. On top of that, they've got a lot more crosstalk and ghost notes than RMC pickups do. I don't recommend them at all.

The Hexpander sucks with the GI-20. I've had two GI-20's, and there's just too many ghost notes with the Hexpander. You're far better off just getting the Fishman Triple Play, which does the same thing as the GI-20, but with FAR better tracking and little to no ghost notes.
@polaris20
@polaris20 11 жыл бұрын
IMO, you're sacrificing a lot of performance just for hiding it. Trust me, I've had both (actually had regular GK pickups too), and none of it compares to the Fishman.
