Thanks for all your surfskate content Steve! There is not much content about this niche form of skating. Everything you do is insane and I have much respect for it! Thanks for it all!

Love everything that Steve does for the community. Keep it coming. I will say that I'm a diehard fan of the Grasp. Pricey, but it's been an investment well spent. I almost exclusively ride it. Feels so much smoother, robust and much turnier. CX feels too restrictive in comparison even with upgraded riptide bushings. I'm ~70kg. Used Grasp with riptide carver CX cones 87.5A, 85A & 80A. Love the feeling of all of them. But have found the best surfiest feeling set up for bowl & transition is an 80A bushing in the front and 85A in rear. It's been very dependable for downhill bombing too. Just my thoughts. Sorry for the essay. Hope it helps someone.

Great job with the in-depth review. The team rider reviews at the end really show how much variance there can be between how people feel about certain products. Ace says how its probably a better surf trainer than the CX, but at the end Laura says the reverse, lol. Bottom line for me is that I'm curious about the Grasp, but since they haven't really pushed into the market here in the US, I can't justify the increased price unless I happen to try one and just really like it.

Weird I kind of feel the opposite, appears wider range of motion and more lean with stock grasp bushings vs stock carver cx bushings in my experience. That’s why all of us like different systems I guess. Nothing scientific in my response though. I like both and agree they are similar
@SurfskateLove4 сағат бұрын
I'm confused by your comment because if you watch the review, you'll discover that I say that exact same thing. If you compare stock Grasp bushings-with the hollowed out front bushings-yes, of course it has wider range of motion and more lean. That's the entire point of the review. Yep, the Grasp has more range of motion and more lean with hollowed out bushings than a Carver without hollow bushings. But put those hollow bushings in the CX and see what happens...

@@SurfskateLove looking at bushings in my stock grasp wipeout, to confirm which they put in there from factory I thought the hollow ones were the extras. I’ll confirm
@maccam264 сағат бұрын
@@SurfskateLove I’m running non-hollow and still have more side to side lean on my grasp wipeout than on my carver CX Glass Off both similar wheelbases and bushings tightened similar as well. Maybe the concave on my grasp board adds to the effect on my end … glass off carver is pretty flat

I play and have both of these trucks, Grasp leans more and is more flexible than CX clearly even though they share the same bushing and wheelbase. Conclusion Grasp is better than CX in every aspect even better than Yow meraki
@DiegoDallaCosta-Main2 сағат бұрын
@@tungchu4750 I feel like this is common knowledge except for Steve apparently. Wouldn't be surprised if somebody is paying him to make such a video. Clearly bias.

@@DiegoDallaCosta-Main Why do you have to make it so personal and disrespectful? No one has ever paid me to make any review. I have zero incentive for favoring any one company over another. The entire point of my channel and reviews is to provide good third-party information from someone who has zero vested interest. I've spent my time on this review to do a very thorough job. I've shown very clearly how the Grasp does have a wider range of motion. I've also shown very clearly why it doesn't translate much. I had a more thorough testing process than any reviewer has put these through. I came to my conclusions. You disagree. Fine. But you don't have to question my integrity in order to disagree.
@SurfskateLove2 сағат бұрын
The fact that you feel that it leans more and is more flexible does not make it "better." It simply means that YOU prefer it. All you can say is what you personally like. You can't say what's "better" for anyone else. I've done my best to describe what I feel from very thorough testing. And I've stated a personal preference. I can't say what's "better" for anyone else. I'm glad you personally prefer it and have found something that works for you.
@DiegoDallaCosta-Main2 сағат бұрын
@@SurfskateLove I'm sorry if it sounds personal. Not trying to make it personal, I'm just saying that your video makes little sense. You are always talking in your reviews about range of motion, specifically when a truck has less range of motion than the CX. Now there is a truck that clearly has more range of motion than the CX(even if you don't see it in your own video somehow) and suddenly that doesn't matter anymore? I just don't get it.
@SurfskateLove2 сағат бұрын
@@DiegoDallaCosta-Main Did you watch the full review? Or just have a knee-jerk reaction from prejudice? I answer your question in great detail. It's the entire point of the review. I'm also VERY clear about it coming down to personal preference.

carver fanboys will do anything but accept that Carvers are outdated and have been surpassed by pretty much all the serious surfskate companies. To say that the CX actually feels more turny is absolute bullshit. With all the great options out there, carvers are cute skate toys and nothing else. EDIT: 11:59 The difference in range of motion in between the Grasp and the CX is EXTREMELY clear. This video is clearly bias 🤦
@SurfskateLove4 сағат бұрын
1. "All the serious surfskate companies." Which ones would those be? Will you list them for me? Are you just a "fanboy" of them? 2. Not once in this video do I say the CX feels more turny. I say they feel equally turny on equal bushings and that I prefer the feeling of flow of the CX. I also state clearly that it's a personal preference. 3. "With all the great options out there, Carvers are cute skate toys and nothing else." So says you. With your incredibly biased opinion. As you say I'm biased. I promise I've tried more surfskates than you, my friend. I have WAY more facts than you. The ONLY thing you have is bias, quite clearly. 4. Throughout this entire video I quite clearly show the difference in range in motion. And then I quite clearly demonstrate why it doesn't matter.

On the clip you're referencing, I actually made a mistake. I'm showing the Grasp truck, but it should be the CX. But the point remains.

I have my CX set up with blue Riptide bushings, their proprietary pivot cups and I use flat washers. There’s ZERO desire for anything different in terms of performance. The lean, radius, rebound and forward thrust is perfect. Never bought anything other than CX and C5. *Sometimes innovative companies like Carver “just get it right” and hence become the standard in comparative Surfskate trucks models.
